It seems the AFL have quietly dumped their '3 strikes and out for 6 weeks rule'.  At best it looks like out for 2 or 3 weeks or not at all...

And has anyone noticed the a whole range of non-injury reasons for players of a number of clubs missing a few games here and there.

...maybe they stop target testing some players after 2 strikes...

Was wondering the exact same. Seems an unholy amount of collaboration. Nudge..wink

Yeah agreed. But this was from that Essendon win when we were paying 10-1 and I won a bit of money on it so I just can't part ways with it.

Any suggestions for a new one?

OK I can see the personal financially sentimental aspect there, but seriously, anything else! Maybe a picture of Jake Lever's dad?

Paging @SaberFang while we're at it :P

Link to the first story i could find online... didnt give much away. He must have been asked specifically about Geelong because thats the only other club mentioned.

Time will tell i guess, but i for one would be very happy to give him a second chance if the price was right. Reckon he will come good after this wake-up call.

It's all a moot point anyway as we aren't interested in him.

The other part of this is that Stringer doesn't seem to be even remotely interested in us either.

Surely if he had such a great relationship with Macca ...

When you read the article, it seems like Stringer is in denial. Starts off by saying that he was shocked and upset, and that he had a good season. The rest is just fluff.

Hawks have ruled out any interest.

Not the brightest tool in the shed, or most articulate.

When referring to what might happen in the next few weeks he said " the past three weeks will let us know more".

Sorry, I don't want to come across as a smart-a***, but my point is that we all have a slip of the tongue or make a mistake from time to time. Maybe he meant to say "the next three weeks will let us know more".

Personally, I don't care if he is or isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. From memory, he's a country boy who grew up on a dairy farm. It's unlikely he's articulate like many of the private school boys that come into the system.

What is important is that he can play good football, as well as understand and execute a club's game plan (plus abide by their guidelines).

DL has just put me on the trade market.

PS. It is not his lack of intelligence that sees him in this position, though it could be mine that sees me in my current one.

I like the honesty of Rob Murphy who has more or less confirmed that Stringer has been a problem the last 2 seasons and must be in denial if he could not see his behaviour was a disruption. Maybe that is Stringers problem he cannot see that his behaviour is short of expectation and he isn't a fanatic of the daily grind of AFL.

Must become our Number One priority now -

Bulldogs have absolutely stuffed this up. Stringer is a gun and we can get him relatively cheaply.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
