If (when) we beat Collingwood (and secure a finals spot) I will ...

I'm going to make all my European housemates watch at least some of the match to show them the greatest game in the world! And wear my Melbourne Polo with pride!

Probably login to skyscanner/jetstar.com to see how much a flight is to Sydney.

Get my butt ready for a good night of sitting somewhere to watch the final on TV when I realise I can't afford a flight

Looking forward to the boys coming to Adelaide.

Stop continually checking the ladder midweek afraid we've fallen out.

Enjoy a stress-free Sunday and barrack for the Eagles, because I can.

I couldn't do it.

you sit through a decade of turning up thinking just 1 win is like a premiership and I couldn't be away.for this.

i've bought a 3 year old girl into the world over this time and she will be there with me and her grandparents and aunties watching what we haven't seen since the Daniher years, FINALS.

That's why I planned it during the bye week. My partner still hasn't worked out why I picked that week.

…still have absolutely no idea where we'll be playing our Elimination final.

Funny thing is that I will not be too excited.

The relative success of the 90's and noughties (what a horrible word) has made me want a lot more than a mere finals appearance.

Hopefully the team can really turn it on over the next few weeks but their performance of late has not been promising.......... Go Dees

We have had zero success, relative or otherwise.

Since the AFL began in 1990, we have played in one Grand Final.  Even St.Kilda have played in four.

It is a pitiful record, and we can thank Richmond for making it only the second most pitiful.

Me too.

be on level 3 at Myer highpoint wondering where that old Ticketmaster office now is and how to i buy finals tickets

....and be utterly gobsmacked and curse Gill at the price since I haven't been to a finals game since 2002 .

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
