JV7started a post "Embrace it" yesterday and as a consequence I have also brought forward my post planned for next week. If we lose it might be too late then and the mood may not be conduicive..

I wish to express gratitude to the following for this season, in no particular order...

Peter Jackson - enough said

Paul Roos - for bringing an on-field foundation and respect

Mr and Mrs Todd Viney - need I mention him Viney jnr.? Enough said

Nathan Jones - This is for you Nate

The Player welfare group - for looking after Jesse, Jeffy and no doubt many others for us in their times of need

Daisy Pearce - leadership and professionalism

The Board (and Glenn Bartlett)

Simon Goodwin - coach of the year contender and all class.

Max Gawn - for continuing the No.11 Guernsey with respect and humour.

Robbo- for Hogan's Heroes

Tom McDonald - Domain Stadium heroics

Jack Watts - QB 17 heroics

Jordan Lewis - making us a destination and THAT Carlton match mark at 30 seconds to go.

Angus Brayshaw - for listening to your mum.

Oscar McDonald - for perseverance

Michael Hibberd - Nothing needs saying here.

Apologies to many others.

I shall sit back and enjoy this weeks game now.

Being able to go somewhere I love 10-15 times a year and know I'm safe and surrounded by like minded individuals.

I am grateful for the fact we've not had a ten goal whipping this season.

Sometimes those like minded individuals are the only reason I walk out of the G not feeling like a complete loon for cheering so loud for the Dees.

Its been desperate times for the last ten years and I'm grateful persistence pays off.

I'm grateful our team came good before my 11 yo boy lost all respect for me "making" him barrack for the dees.

I am grateful for being able to watch my team & we're always a chance of winning.

I'm grateful for making the trip down to Hobart Vs North....

Surely not, I only had to drive over the bridge & that was bad enough.

Grateful to hear the club song played at match end

Not whilst he's stuck in the two's

I'm thankful that it took no persuading at all for me to love the club as much as my father did. So many great memories that they still outweigh the bad from the last decade.

Me too, I've 2 sons, 11 and 6,

Life speaking yes. Football speaking im geateful that James Frawley left and we have Angus as a result, a future vice captain before our eyes.

Offshore tax havens, my rugged good looks, the girls I've loved before, wine, weed and my rude good health.

The qualified MFC success so far is what I expect it to be.

I'm beyond gratitude for a few wins.

We seek the grail.

I am grateful that I made my daughter (who comes to the footy with me)  learn CPR and do a refresher course every couple of years just in case.......

For fine whisky and cigars. Without them I reckon I would have ended up in an asylum due to this club.

Beating the Saints twice

Losing the Etihad curse with 2 wins from 3 games there this year

Smashing Adelaide on their home deck

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

A undermanned Dees showed some heart and desperation to put the Fremantle Dockers to the sword as they claimed their first victory for the season winning by 10 points at the MCG.
