We lost to the 2nd bottom team a few weeks ago.  Come today fully switched on, or risk a disaster.

The Lions will throw everything at us and have picked their best team possible.

Today is the day we exorcise the poltergeist of expectation that has haunted us for years that causes us to play like a b grade VFL side whenever we are odds on favorites to win.

Put them to sword efficiently and effectively Demons!!!

Exactly.

I hope the coaching staff has consulted some good psychologists for match preperation, our bad habits against low ranked teams is the only thing standing between us and finals.

Get the job done boys.

GO DEMONS!

My oldest son was 5 months old the last time we played finals and is now a Pie.

We have never played finals in my youngests life. He turned to the Hawks but asked to wear an old Dees jumper to the Meth Coast game and cheered like crazy but stated it was only because he hated Meth Coast.

He is starting to waiver back to us September action will IMO do that.

Make it happen Dees

Brisbane is now playing for the spoon. Number 1 pick on the line. Their administration and coaches wouldn't want to win today. Let's hope they make demon like changes (aka brad Miller in the ruck).

Raynor is head and shoulders the best from the draft.

We have lost to the second bottom team three times this year. Lets not add the bottom team as well.

What can I say the kids of today. The Hawk stuck fat for a long time but the Neeld era killed him

Don't think Fagan will go down that line myself and I'm glad.

Lets just prove we deserve to be there

There was a thread during the week about players reading/posting on demonland... If there for some reason is a current player out there who reads this please show your other teammates.

Us supporters have been to hell & back following this football club the past decade, the majority of this list & coaching staff don't fully understand what it's like to be a Melbourne supporter, to go through rebuild after rebuild, false dawn after false dawn coach after coach, failed draft pick after draft pick, number 1 picks been taken by expansion sides, top picks having career ending injuries, past players and coaches losing battles to illnesses, the only team to be fined of tanking but not actually tanking, been the laughing stock of the competition & friends for 10 fricken years! Rocking up to the G week in week out knowing we'd be lucky to be within 5 goals at quarter time, travlleing across the country to still show our support.. There's been times we could have all thrown it in and said "I'm done with this club" but we stuck through the tough times knowing there'd be brighter days and when those days came they would be sweeter than any because what we have been through... So today please if the going gets tough and it feels like it's all too much just remember what one shot at a finals series means to all us supporters... Go Dees

It is literally a year ago today that we played a Sunday, 1.10pm MCG game against a bottom 4 side, with us having "everything to play for" and finals on the line.

If we learnt anything from that game it's that showing up expecting the result to occur will result in a loss.

Can't be confident about today's game: have seen so many of these games go the wrong way over the past few years.

BUT! It's in our hands now: we are not a top four team yet, but a good win today will show that we deserve our place in the Top 8.

Come on you Demons!

Predicting Hogan to rag doll a couple of their undersized defenders and have a good day

And then be suspended for 4 weeks because the AFL wanted to crack down all of a sudden on the blight on the game of rag dolling (otherwise know as touching another player in anyway shape or form)! ?

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
