CityDee 738 Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Get Todd Viney to take Tmac around to Ron Junior for a cuppa and a long chat .

bringbackthebiff 658 Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Interesting discussion. Do you pick this on 1. Lead by example or 2. Genuine leader. 1. Nev for leading by example - quite possibly the most underrated player in the league or 2. Lewis = leader. It's Lewis for me. Lewis knows what it's looks like to achieve at the highest level. But geez I love nev (and told him at a kids footy clinic recently - bit awkward for Nev)
picket fence 18,327 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Lewis, I reckon he would have a cracker of a game as well! Some blokes are just like that. Big occasion player.

ignition. 1,478 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Lewis. Sure it's his first season with us but he's a natural leader with the most experience of all. The boys also have a tendency to listen when he speaks.
Biffen 12,949 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 max or nev -who cares. it's not cricket so doesn't matter. tom mc in career best form-dont jinx it.

Nasher 33,717 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Strange that people are nominating Jetta since he's not in the leadership group. You can love him all you want (and I do), but it ain't gonna happen. It will come from the 4 players listed in the poll. TMac for mine, but would be happy with any of them.
Roger Mellie 4,213 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Bernie for me. Back into the middle for the game and the toss. Will step up to the challenge. Lewis has been average for the last month They'll probably rotate it
hardtack 11,145 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 I wouldn't like to see the likes of Gawn, TMac, Vince etc encumbered with the added responsibility at this point in the season where there is a place in the finals on the line; let them get on with their respective jobs and give the interim captaincy to someone who has been there and done it before... so for mine, it has to be Lewis. Who knows, it might even get him more involved than he appears to have been lately.
Allus Monk 568 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 At the end of last season Lewis was strongly tipped to be Hawthorn's permanent captain. Also Judd was made captain in his first season at Carlton. Just make it Jordan. X Factor.
Jaded No More 68,976 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Needs to be Gawn given our depleted midfield at the moment. He can lead from the centre. Or Tmac if he is the relief ruck. Important that we have someone in the middle, even though I love Jets and he is probably the most consistent player I've ever seen at the MFC, and should be knighted!
Vipercrunch 2,873 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Bernie and Lewis have been less that impressive for quite a while now. Lot's of turnovers and putting teammates under pressure with poor disposal or decisions. TMac should get it.

When TMac kicked the matchwinning goal he was immediately pointing to everyone to get back in defence. He has led from the front in recent weeks and deserves the interim title.
DeeZone 10,642 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 TMac has gone to a whole new level this year, playing awesome Footy.!!!!
poita 3,954 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Tom McDonald has been excellent from a playing perspective, and is ready to step up and take an increased leadership role. The only concern would be his ability to marshal the troops whilst playing deep forward or back, but he is clearly the best option remaining. Neither Lewis or Vince inspires great confidence with their recent efforts.
Ted Lasso 19,586 Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Apparently it's between gawn and hogan according to Stevo
