Not trying to be that "Mr Positive" guy but there were not too long ago a fair amount of players that were banging down the door of the selection committee and the only reason they weren't getting a game was because we were doing so well.

Nothing wrong with being positive.......as a Dees supporter its mandatory.

I thought White was completely out of his depth. But, has he ever played competitively in the AFL or VFL at night before? And last Friday the weather was particularly brutal. (It might not have looked like it on TV, but it was probably the coldest night anyone playing out there had played in). I remember playing football as a kid (a long time ago now) and when it was cold, the ball hitting hands was incredibly hard. So, would White be a better player on Sunday in the daylight in normal winter weather conditions? I don't know the answer and I'm not sure we'll get a chance to find out, although in the last few years I don't recall us bringing in players just for one game. We seem to give everyone two or three chances first.

Will we be the first team this year to sit someone on Docherty? It's like he is a ghost that no-one can see.

Geez these 6 day breaks looks like they might kill our season

Misson and his department have clearly struggled to keep the playing list in good shape as a result of these 6 day breaks. So many hamstring injuries.

Hogan appears to be in everyone's ins but I read he's far from a certainty.

I've hardly seen them play but Liam Jones is nearly AA fullback they say.

Even Gibbs is getting a kick.

Gawn joked last week in regards to worrying about our injuries when we actually get down to 20 available. It's not that far off at the moment.

AFL website

Just to clarify for everyone - the article mentioned some hamstring tightness in the second term before he played out the game. At no stage does it say Frost is doubtful for this week. Well done on making stuff up.

I never bet on footy, but these odds are tempting.

They should be about $1.40.

I already jumped on at $2.85 yesterday so they have come in a bit already

I know injuries are a part of football, but thanks to the AFL with giving us a 6 day break we have lost a lot of our players, this makes me so p$*$^% off.

Not happy!

Not sure how you can blame Mission and the fitness department. Not his fault the AFL crucified us with 4 weeks of short breaks plus the biggest road trip in footy.

Short of literally pulling players out of matches, what could he have done?

We had a light training load for this period of time, but our game style combined with these short breaks, is something he can't control.

Plus Viney's injury seems to be a recurrence, rather than something new, and Tyson is an impact injury.

Here's hoping the Blues get to at least that magical lead of 24 so you can have the best of both worlds.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
