chook fowler 19,783 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Let's face it - were 5 of our best 22 down and have come back from WA to play after 6 days. However, really disappointed in Lewis and Vince as experienced players - they should be leading the way
Demon Disciple 12,538 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Wagner is not a footballer (well a good one anyway), White is meant to be a decent kick......so they say. Goody finally moves Hunt to the back line, so that's a tick. Do we have 18 guys out there, cos they have numbers everywhere and in a paddock. We have been very fumbly and reactionary. Need to respond by playing smart, simple football. Change up the need for tall forwards, put Trac as the focal point down there and tell the mids to lift their [censored] game.

dl4e 5,851 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 With the players out and game time sequence it wont be a surprise to see us decimated. We look tired and disinterested. White cant dispose and Bugg is an idiot. Wagner trying hard but little support and our forward 50 is around 75 per cent down on scoring power.

bing181 9,474 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Swans look impressive, getting their mojo back. The depth runs deep with them. Out of all the teams we've played this year, they look a class above. Wouldn't rule them out come September. On the other hand, as it has been all year, our weakness is our last handful of players picked: Bugg, Melksham, ANB, Harmes all mostly invisible, and/or poor with/around the ball. Stretch hasn't touched it much either, but at least his disposals generally get to where they're meant to be going. Can't see us getting out of this. Jones, Garlett, Watts, Hogan out, and the rest of them playing their 4th match in 18 games. There's a limit.

leave it to deever 17,621 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Dont think we will win this one. Travelling to Perth and playing after 6 days and travelling back and playing after another 6 is totally stuffed as are the players I reckon. Not many other clubs cop that.

Sydney dominated but are only 3 goals up. We are in this. You lot are crazy negative. Thats how it works around here. OTT positivity when going well and OTT wrist slashing and rubbishing of players* when not going well. *often the same players who were subject to all the OTT positivity. Anyway, on we go.

It will be interesting if the fighting Melbourne we are used to turn up (or if they have energy to fight). I'm not expecting it tonight, the signs are ominous, heavy legs, bad decisions, bad luck, bad discipline, getting smashed at the contest, in the ruck and in the air. Anything less than a 10 goal loss will surprise me.

Disappointed in Wagner so far... who's White Kent yes, Kennedy ain't used to AFL though, he was a VFL Player when he was at Colonwood and he;s a VFL player with us, one of the few dud pickups we've had recently.

Rob Mac...... 643 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 If we could possess it more (easier said than done). when we have posession more guys need to provide options upfield and those options should be honored.
Lord Travis 10,819 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Viney just lumped off and went down into the rooms. If he's out injured we are absolutely [censored].
Little Goffy 14,976 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Right now that full set of 'second string' midfielders are ALL having poor days, and it isn't being covered by outstanding games from our top group. Fumbles, missed connections, lack of run for defensive pressure, not much forward target power. We've turned things around from much worse positions after even worse first halves, so not letting myself panic, but wow there's plenty to correct in the half time break. Melbourne Demons: SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!
