They had him on the Deebrief podcast (I think that's what it is called) and said their cheersquad wasn't booing him, yeah right

the ponsford stand spent a lot of time booing during the game. any demon kicking a set shot at that end got booed mercilessly. in fact the only time a filth supporter actually sounds vaguely coherent is when he boos

Get [censored] Collingwood and eat a bag of dicks Joffa!

I've watched the replay again and again.  The best bit is the roar before the ball even goes through.  It started with those behind him (of which luckly I was one) who could see it was gun barrel straight (in memory of my favourite all time commentator) from the moment he kicked it and the rest of the crowd just joined in as one. That joyous roar will live with me for ages. Those who bother to read my posts know I'm a Jack fan and have stood up for him here for a long time.  I was just proud of the boy.

And while I've no problem with Jack giving them the bird I think blowing them a kiss would have been better, it would have pizzed them off even more.

Brilliant meme Ted, but having said that I really like Jeremy Howe.

Oh and Dazzle, a bit of pot calling kettle black in your post lad.  Just saying.

This thread just gets better and better.

Collingwood cheer squad were confused because they couldn't figure out which racist Watts was pointing out to security.

I just noticed in the first frame of the video how Jones, Bugg and Jeffy were all loose in the forward fifty, glad Watts got the goal though. May the filth suffer from the Watts curse from this day forward.

Titanic was a movie about class moreso than icebergs. It's fitting that Jack has taken on the transformative Jack Dawson role from his privileged private-school essence past. Looked like a serious, scruffy footballer on the weekend. Max and Jeffie must have initiated Jackie-boy into the ancient gnostic wisdom of the beard-mojo.

I think his next act after the goal was equally impressive, rushing in to Collingwood's goal to spoil what would have been a goal. Two game winning acts in minutes, great work Jack,  f...  you Collingwood supporters.

Never a great comparison IMO due to their positional differences. However Natanui averaging under 2 marks a game as a ruckman is pretty damning.

Watt's hit out for the Garlett to Hannan goal was pretty damn impressive. Can ruck!

I hated the sight of Joffa nodding and grinning like a fool when the Pies got their 2nd last goal, no doubt thinking, " one more will do it ".  Well, suffer goose. One more didn't do it.

I tried to keep an eye on it while it was happening but it was a bit hard from the top level on the wing.

To me it simply looked like he was standing there with a smile on his face and his arms raised. Maybe index fingers pointed straight up. Buggy then joined him too to celebrate. Then the crowd through some bottles at him and security moved in.

Do you really think Watts would flip them the bird? Buggy on the other hand....

Thanks.  Chinese whispers, as evidenced on this thread, are never accurate..

It sounded unlikely that Watts would give them the bird.  Watts standing close to the fence with his arms raised and a big grin on his face is far more in Watts' DNA.  And if Watts really did flip the bird it's unfathomable that not one Collingwood supporter has actually said "Watts flipped the bird at us".

Thanks for clarifying.  Although I hasten to add, posters will be reciting the supposed fact that Watts gave the Collingwood cheer squad the bird post game on QB 2017 for years to come.

Provided he plays Sunday and next week, he's on track to play his 150th against Sydney on Friday night at the MCG.

Dont want to look too far ahead and milestone games often tend to backfire but this bloke does deserve a bit more glory.

He's played 148 according to AFL.com so that would mean the game against the eagles will be his 150th.

Wasn't there a comparison chart somewhere that said NicNat was stuck on 146?

How good would it have been if he & NicNat could have played their 150th in the same game?

It would've been nice symmetry.  Apparently they are also good mates off the field.

How have hell have Naitanui and Watts played almost the same number of games? NicNat seems to be injured a fair bit, while Watts has the permanence of a gnat.

I hope he flipped them the bird and told them their day release was up!

They are the scummiest bunch of low life losers going around. It's ok for them to hackle and abuse, including racially abuse players, on a regular basis, but they can't take a little bit of their own medicine the other way.

Have a sook and enjoy 11th spot you [censored]!

Still stuck in a time warp of Jacks debut as a kid when their poor booing could influence his game.

They have booed him every game for the only reason as just mentioned. Lowlifes for sure.

My sources confirm it never happened by the way.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
