Look he just needs to tone down the aggression in the sense we don't want him getting suspended all the time. But he will be a great addition to our backline.

He is a mature player who can hold his own down back.

He was on that trade talk show on ch9 last night and said what stood out was goodwin talking to him about what Melbourne and the coaching group can do for his game personally and for him. Said that's what he was most impressed with.

Anyway I look forward to see him do his stuff next year.

Goody ❤❤

Heres the interview.

Simon Goodwin needs to write a book, so I can learn first hand from the master. What an effing legend.

BTW - welcome to the club Mr May. You've carried yourself beautifully through this period and I can't wait to see you contribute to what will be the meanest defence in the league coupled with the highest scoring forward line. I'm changing my username to Big Kev. I'm excited.

I vaguely remember roosu saying something similar in his meeting with goody, it was mostly about culture and so on rather than just football. I think we are onto a winner with goody

Being from GCS I don't know much about him but after watching his highlights reel he looks a tough customer. Would look to be good addition.

He goes ok. Has a big appetite for the game...snacks on forwards I'm told :)

The MFC welcomes a new indigenous player to the fold.

I just hope that when he makes his debut for the club that we do better than Gold Coast on his debut with them - it was the game against Essendon at the Docklands when the Bombers kicked 15.4.94 to 0.1.1 in the first quarter.

Helps when you're on the good stuff, mate.

He has played on the forward line before so if one of our KPF go down he is an option to replace them since our KPB stocks are plentiful.

I reckon the idea of putting May forward is akin to putting Tom McDonald back. It's not going to happen. Particularly, as we've just paid an early first rounder for him to strengthen our defence. He's a better player than OMac or Frost, so he's already in before them.

Yes please

Either he doesn't like the Lions or he fires up for big rivalry games. Can't wait to see him front up to Lynch Anzac Eve :)

There's no doubt May would have taken notice of the way we play footy and part of the attraction in coming to us would be to play alongside some the other tough and uncompromising types we have on our list.

Anyone watching us against Geelong and the way our youngsters made Selwood, Ablett and Dangerfield earn every touch would have been impressed. None of our young guys back away from heat.

May and Pruess will not only make us walk even taller, but they'll walk taller themselves.

We now have the toughest side in the comp. Of that I'm sure and oppo sides won't like it.

I like this line in the MFC release just emailed to me:

"The addition of Kolodjashnij will enhance Melbourne’s transition play from the backline, while defender May is one the biggest names switching clubs this off-season."

I haven't checked, but I suspect Kolodjashnij will have been the biggest name, while May will likely have been the shortest.

...and he can get it, run fast and kick it well 'steve', that's got to be a good thing.

We not only get May and Pruess but also Oliver with 2 new shoulders.

I thought the odd tackle was slipping toward the end of the season.

At least now Viney has some he can do tackling drills with.

You can also add the following players to your list of 'tacklers':  Harmes, Jetta, Vandenberg, Oliver

Could be brutal. New club rule. No killing teammates at training.

I have to admit to not seeing a lot of May playing. Watching the $un$ play was never high on my list of stuff to do.

He is a seriously big unit who can take a mark and hit a target.

The fact we have no picks in the 1st round of the draft (yet) does concern me, so these 2 from the $un$ simply must be high class.

Fingers Crossed...

Love seeing a rough tough mean looking head in Demon colours.

I love tough guys Ernest. We have had so few over the years. We were cream puffs for a long time  AVB at one end and May at the other. No bruise free football for these guys.

I've not noticed Pig take any backward steps either.

We might scare a few teams with our list. Another summer in the gym... Won't be too many boys out on the paddock ;)

If only we could recreate Brent Crosswell and get him to play along side May.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
