Please, please, please don't let us lose to this rabble next week.

We've had many a flogging from this side, for once I want us to deal out some punishment to them!

Giving them a good thrashing at the MCG could well be remembered as the day the Hawks plunged into mediocrity.

Sounds arrogant ... just like Hawks supporters have been for 20 odd years

I think they have already plunged into mediocrity DJ.

At least I can take solace in the fact we will likely have some big wins over them in the next few years.

I would say Gibson, Burgoyne, Hodge will all retire this year. Compounded with Mitchell and Lewis leaving at the end of last year will cause a huge leadership hole. Plus Roughy would only have a year or two left as well you would think.

A hawks supporter at work the other day mentioned that they will just go to free agency. I told him that by the end of this season the only free agents they will attract are has beens or so-so players trying to earn a little more cash. No gun player in their right mind would go there if they want some semblance of success before they retire.

No 1st round pick this year.... HA HA HA.

Swans fall from grace has been amazing. No way did I think they would lose this one.

Longmire may need to step aside.  Maybe it's time for a different approach, as clearly what they are doing just isn't working anymore.

True, but none of them have had to deal with the injuries we've had.  I don't like using it as an excuse, but it isn't as if we've had a full list and played poorly.  There's more to it than that.

With Swans Hawks and North failing, the door into the 8 is wide open for us.

All clubs get injuries so not an excuse.

Don't be fooled by Sydney being on the bottom.  They are more likely to bounce back 2nd half this season and definitely next season than are North or Hawks.

Sydney have had a bad run with injuries so far (and they lost Tippett this morning).  They have a young list with quite a bit of talent which just need some experience.  About 8-10 of their GF team had played less than 50 games.

I think Tippett comes out of contract his year and it is hard to see him get the mega $ again so that should free up some sal cap space.

They are a very smart, well run club.  Longmire is no dummy and knows exactly where they are at and what needs to be done.

This is a temporary lull for Sydney.  More permanent for North and Hawks.

Agreed.

Before people start thinking 'poor demons, we have so many injuries' just look at those of other teams.

If we get into this 'woe me' mindset we will make excuses for real problems with our game and performance.  Like Goodwin said - good teams find a way to win regardless of personnel out.

So agreed, no more 'injury' excuses.

I raised the injuries a few times but got howled down saying only two at most were best 22

Gawn and Hogan (not injured ... I know)

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
