Casey Demons v North Ballarat

KC from Casey

Recommended Posts

I was told today the info is that gus hasn't had any real symptoms over night but he will be seeing a specialist and is likely to have a few weeks off to be safe.

The club and his management are going to look at a few options to make sure he's safe when he's out there, weather that be a helmet, technique or a stint on the sidelines to fully recover.

I notice the Weid was selected to play at HB last night

From  anyone who saw the game, did he play off the back line as he seems to have got no mentions in any of the game reports I have seen?

Didn't play at all. Still had issues with his corky.

May in the outer might be a good start.

There are a couple on here who make my blood run cold.

Angus is facing a serious injury that could end his career and seemingly all they want to do is snipe at other peoples comments.

An amateur prognosis and unsubstantiated guesswork annoys me no end.

I don't know if this helps much but I will recall what I remember from last night: Brayshaw handballed to a teammate, my eyes were on the ball so I didn't see the incident but seconds later, Gus was on the ground face first and not moving for about ten seconds. He eventually got to his feet and slowly got helped off the ground.

That is a good hit. Whoever lined him up, Got him good...

So you do read Demonland all the time and be constantly annoyed right?

It is somebody's opinion, dont read it

I read ill-informed opinion all of the time, especially on the training threads, but it's the amateur medical prognosis that annoys more than most, as it's nothing more than ill-informed guesswork.

Btw, you said not too long ago you had me on ignore.

Couldn't keep away, eh ?  ; )

Settle down I'm from ballarat we are not all bad, need to wait and see what happened 1st

From here or live here?.......no we are not all bad, and i was hardly alluding to that. But you have to admit there is a certain type of #$%^^% here that would participate in such an act.

The club posted on the teamsheet on Instagram indicating who was playing. Weid definitely was out

As I noted above, best to wait till we learn more details.  And thankfully a reporter has talked to the club rather make assumptions.  "Angus received a minor concussion following a late hit during the game last night," Mahoney said on Sunday..."He reported signs of improvement this morning. We will monitor him through the week but expect him to be available this week."  http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/angus-brayshaw-not-expected-to-miss-any-games-despite-third-concussion-20170423-gvqkgt.html

The club will give him all the time and care he needs to get back to his courageous self.

Footnote:  hope their is video of that late hit and the offending player gets a few weeks holiday.

Mahoney on Triple M to talk about Brayshaw, said it's a minor concussion, career threatening is dramatising.

No major concussion plan and at this stage is expected to be available to play next week, is being treated as a standard concussion.

No psychological issues for Brayshaw regarding the head knocks and attacking the ball according to Mahoney.

So a knock to the head behind play. When can we expect the details of the report/suspension? Our guys received 2 and 3 weeks for offences that may have (but didn't) lead to guys missing games. This is potentially career ending. I'd expect a lengthy stint on the sidelines if I'd done it.

don't have much, if any, video for most vfl games

Is that why we're regularly having players 'sniped' in the VFL? I must admit I don't follow it too much other than Casey, but we seem to be getting this a bit. Or am I making [censored] up?

It's just a rougher league due to less skill and less video evidence to get into trouble with. Last year I recall Clarry losing his [censored] as someone bit his fingers when he was trying to grab a ball off the ground in a pack. Seems to be a common theme for older guys to illegally rough up younger kids who are clearly better than them.

Yeah that's one I remember, I recall Salem copping a belting too at some stage. And wasn't there a broken jaw in there somewhere as well, going back a while perhaps.

What was the outlook last night ?

The hysterical career-ending posts on here ?

May have been construed as 'hysterical',nevertheless, it's his fourth or fifth head knock and a cause for serious concern.Others have had long periods out of the game or even retired with fewer knocks than Brayshaw. Ongoing affects and repercussions cannot be minimized.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
