No I have not chosen my words poorly, I have an opinion, doesn't mean you have to agree or like

These days there seems more interest at games in drinking and watching the odds than actually watching the footy

Reason we went with reserved seats this year, got sick of supporters continually getting up to refill at the bar, no matter which area we were in

The training of  security personal is currently a joke. Essentially if you turn up everyday  to a course which you pay for through a private provider you get your ticket.

Have a look at the number of bashings, assaults and over the top responses from security people that have been reported in the media over the last year or two.

And what about that clown who was parading around the Bourke Street Mall with a handgun on his hip. He was unlicensed yet employed by a security company.

In general ( and I will admit that) they are cardboard cops and wannabes - disgraceful.

It is not that crowd members were at fault but obviously security were reacting or overreacting to something

I have worked in the Hospitality industry and know that some of the 'security' leaves a lot to be desired, but also there are some who think it 'humorous' to see how far they can push them

As far as the Metro etc, don't fare evade

At the Carlton game it meant a 10-15 minute wait in a queue, and then and on Saturday a cursory wave with a wand, not caring that I had pockets full of keys, money, radio, and who knows what - they certainly wouldn't have the slightest clue had i taken in a small nuke!!

A total tokenistic waste of time unless they are going to do it properly, like at an airport, which would lead to interminable lineups.

It's not the size of the nuke that matters, but what you do with it.

Fair dinkum Saty that is dead set funny! The reason I enjoy my reserved seat is because I can get up and go to the boozer whenever I like and know my seat is safe.

The lady who has been sitting next to me for several years may disagree because I have spilt beer over her and her kids a few times.

May I suggest you sit in the Muslim prayer room.It is usually unoccupied unless I have just been in there to pull a cone.

Alcohol is forbidden there for some reason.

About a decade ago my mates and i bought a few cans into kardinia park in our pockets. When i sat down a can got pearced on the seat and squirted out like a super soaker on the poor kid in front of me. Direct spray all over his face.

I felt terrible about it. The kids old man handlded it as best you could hope for.

Luckily for me no meat head security around. I deserved to be thrown out.

Just back from the Barcelona V Juventus game and I don't think we have anything on the security here. How would we react if we had policemen ready with riot gear protecting the players race. 

Just a few comparisons to some of our games this year:

Barca and Juventus players must have gone to the Cripps acting school

Barca and Juventus have been watching replays of our Geelong game for goal kicking tips (score 0-0 after numerous attempts

I was warned to stay clear of the Juventus supporters if they lost. I would have known who they were -they were in black and white. Highlight of the night was 85,000 Barca supporters singing " Su la mafia" to the 10,000 Juventus supporters. 

I did miss Robbos Haymes paints speckies at half time. Absolutely nothing at half time but some very good music.

These days with alcohol there seems to be a lack of control or the need to over indulge

Example we had the chance to have a beer at Xmas whilst we were working

Of course a couple of young idiots took it too far, can't see it happening again any time soon

We drank but didn't feel the need to attack anyone or be boorish, we had a good time

Drink of choice during military was XXXX and Gilbey's Gin

The security inside in the g is a joke. Young, clueless guys, with no social skills who don't have a clue how to manage any sort of interaction with a patron. Which is unfortunate seeing that is their role. 

I'm loud and expressive but NEVER swear, abuse players or umpires and don't have any conflict with other fans (i won't say NEVER on that last point but I honestly i can't remember the last time i had any real argument at the footy, aprt from with my mates - no doubt some opposition fans are occasionally irked by my enthusiasm for the dees, but not once in 40 odd years of going to the footy has anyone complained to security about me ).  

I sit at the top of the Ponsford on and for some games there are bugger all people. I hate it when that is the case because i sit near the stairs and invariably there are several 'security guards' milling around me. One, because they are lazy and congregate in one area, two because there are bugger all people to bother with (why not redeploy them to an areas that does have fans in it) and three because of my vociferousness. Because i never cross any lines even they know they there is no need for them to do anything so they they often just stand around me. Sometimes i will ask them if there is a problem and they say no, no problem.

It irks me. ift feels as i f they are waiting for me to do something they can jump on me for. Which never happens. It doesn't happen when i sit in the same spot and there is any sort of crowd - even though i am just as loud, perhaps even louder.

Saty was initially employed as PJs   Hairdresser.

It was a bald move but it kept him busy .

From there he went on to handing out scarves ,which seems a natural progression in the absence of hair on our head,or colllective head,as he still is.

Saty then progressed to training reports and scooter detail.

Now he is moral compass and ex serviceman exemplar of sophistication.

And raconteur par excellence .

I don't discourage anyone to drink at the footy but I always encourage yoof to be cool and MFC yoof are all very sensible in my experience .I've never seen a rowdy mfc fan in my life.

The younger generation handle alcohol more sensibly now than ever before in my experience ,but then again,none of them can keep up with me so my judgement is somewhat  clouded.
