Will be interesting to see if Goodwin has big enough Kahuna's to turn this around next year.

Even with 12 wins The MFC has managed to dig a big hole for itself in 2017

it is easy to see. Our 1st Quarter efforts were pathetic...

Casey did the same today SWYL.

Some perspective:

Goodwin did his presses after the match.  Nate Jones did a presser after we missed out.  That is enough.  Realistically, no one is interested in us any more for the year.  Did the Hawks come out and apologise for their season?  Did Norf?

Nah, it just sux the big ones in the way we came 9th.  Richmond have been doing it for years.  All focus now should be on the teams that made the finals, and all the tin-arse individual awards. (I'm looking at you Macgrath of the Bombers, least deserving rising star EVER, and only at the Bummers because they rorted their drug cheating year.)

Expect statements at the Bluey, and in the year book things that will clutter my letterbox.  Not before - we dont deserve to be heard, we were irrelevant and 9th.  We deserve to hurt.

And I HATE being a laughing stock of other fans.  I have to restrain myself from punching Bombers fans in the face.  Smug [censored].

I epect The Club to tell me what went wrong...We who pay deserve that and then i expect the problems to be fixed.

For far too long this club has said nothing...

SWYL got his finals booklet today

9 days after we didn't nake it....

Beyond the obvious hilarity and annoyance of such it highlights how inept a procedure it has been. Had we made it imagine the angst as some got this visy-fodder too late to enact successfully I'd suspect.

Maybe some should email the club to remind of this technology.

All in all the club are not winning tricks here.

Still...when is this club ever about winning !!

Why bother emailing them. The people who should care are showing absolutely that they give little fooks!

Just some poor worker getting the email, replying with a mostly templated response and hitting delete.

I'm still super jaded with how poor this club has been. When they should have been on the front foot engaging the supporters they seem to be hiding... probably at the snow.

tbh the notion of emailing them was to illustrate the irony.

I know that there will be calls of...there all people... "leave the people alone"  ( suggested imagery..."that Brittany vid " )

This is SUPPOSED to be a professionally run organisation. God knows it runs on a budget of MILLIONS.. not tuppence ha'ppenny .       The difference often between success and failure is , and warning..it's a glib reference to an f'n obvious..... Attention to detail.

The general worker at the MFC is only doing what they're instructed. So it stands to reason someone giving instructions is an idiot!!

I just received an email to say there is an interview with Goodwin on the club website.

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2017-09-05/missed-opportunity-simon-goodwin?camefrom=EMCL_1829220_73153980

Not sure I've ever seen an email form the club to tell me there is an article on the website.  Usually club emails are about promotions.  The club must read Demonland!

Makes up for the club not letting members know that Jones had a press conf.

Better late than never.

As to the interview, I was very very impressed with him and what he said.  He was genuine and heartfelt.  He is still hurting just like the rest of us.  Clearly he is heavily invested in the club.

Players wanted to make their own history so are also shattered.

Time for us all to move on.

And all the emails to the club- my mother did so yesterday expressing the supporters need to hear from coach/ceo/president, in order for hurting supporters to move on from 2017. Closure I think it is called

I think they have been bombarded with emails asking to hear from the coach. I also sent one last week.  So its great they reacted.

What I think came from Demonland was for the club to email members and let them know the interview was on the website - something I haven't noticed before.  And something they didn't do for the Jones press conf.  This ensures all members will have the chance to see it.

Kudos to Simon and the club for hearing and respecting the requests of members.

Yes, I think closure has begun.

A week too late, but better late than never.

Still I hope that they sit down in the next week and figure out how they can get into the current day and age with communication to their members.

l'm still super miffed that a "professional" club could be so poor and take so many complaints/emails from their supporters before actually acting.

CD. Whole thing took ...how long ? Ffs

Maybe get it out the way and move on.

What he says is essentially irrelevant. Its that HE DOES say something... probably more timely . THAT'S the point.

Nearly a week and a half later ??

Im sure if we here and elsewhere weren't plssed off and vocal...how long ?

Quite frankly he's lost me for the moment. He can reconvince me in 2018.

I know.. he'll lose sleep in the meantime ;)

All in all he's accomplished nothing natural progression wouldn't have.

Wow

Go Dees

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol
