Surely we could get someone. It's r4. I mean how long have we known we have needed one? Don't we have people working in sponsorship. Come on PJ, you have delivered us a lot of good but sponsorship brings in revenue. It does look a tad strange with a bare back. Also radio commentators pic up on it and comment how it's unbelievable we cannot find a sponsor.

Someone out there just sign us up.

It has to be a massive hit to what would have been budgeted for if we don't get a BOJ sponsor. No way the club planned not to have one. I'm not really sure, but I had the impression BOJ sponsorship was worth $500K.

It's worth $1m.

The Club are still talking to 2 suitors. One is a beverage company.

Oh my. It was probably Coopers and we nearly ended up with another Energy Watch on our hands right before the start of the season. Would make sense to hold off the announcement for a few weeks.

I noticed yesterday that the coaches box doesnt have a sponsor on the front of it either. Surely someone out there wants to take  a gamble on us. Hey if you sponsor us we will certainly give you an interesting ride. It would just be nice for somoene to sponsor us. anyway surely it's the role of the President along with others to try and do this. Is Glen Bartlett actually doing anything?

This would be a good fit, nickname-wise anyway. If we didn't already have AHG, and if they were going to export these into Australia, which they're not.

I'm not into cars but this thing is insane. I would be on the phone asking for a branded donation for local Dodge-Dees cross-promotional purposes. Would look great with a blue yoke as well. They could parlay the exposure into the Dodge Journey (and its corny narrative) - which, ahem, fits well with our supporter demographic. AHG represent Dodge, so maybe they wouldn't mind, or could get behind it?

That was hardly the same situation. They held a completely rational and balanced discussion about gay marriage that was blown out by hyperventilating activists. Comparing that with outright racist comments by the Energy Watch guy is just silly.

Yes the PC got them praha.

Obviously potential sponsors don't think we are the real deal yet. Saturdays game won't change that perception.

Correct

Victoria Bitter has recently pulled the pin on sponsoring the Australian Cricket team. Coincidence?

Having said that, if we have a beer company be prepared for plenty of whinging about it not being a good look for a family-friendly sport. I'm not a beer drinker, but I'm perfectly happy to have a beer sponsor.

Interesting topic sponsorship.

Its not always about the team being 'winners'

Sponsorship can often be more about Brand awareness.

If only about riding a winner then a lot of shows and mags would be bereft of any (ads)

Im sure there is any number of potential sponsors. I also suggest that the club is waiting to clinch a 'best offer'

Bit like keeping your powder dry.

It's about timing.

Nothing to worry about here imho

I doubt that we are going to get back the dollars we have lost for the year to date, so it is a concern. Any deal that comes later in the season will be pro rated for the remaining period. Our middling form and ladder position is going to hurt us further still.

I think it is fairly safe to say at this point poita that there is no one waiting in the wings.

We are now discussing 2018.

You're making a political comparison. I was making a marketing comparison. And in this sense, Coopers would have actually been far far worse than Energy Watch. Energy Watch was a failure of due diligence and we immediately cut our ties. To announce Coopers after their bad press - whether you accept it as reasonable or not - would have been to have aligned ourselves with their perceived values.

Incorrect. One of the companies we are progressing talks with has already been mentioned in this thread. We will have something done this year, we will just miss out on full value for year one.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
