Highlights the strengths of 2 guys I think both have something to offer us if they do the things they did here.

Ben Ken - Acceleration, balance, steadies up, draws a man and makes the smart decision (Poor Paddy McKenna's ankles)

Vanders - strong in close, physical, uses his size to get the ball out of reach, hands off to a runner and follows up with a (borderline illegal) shepherd (or tackle) of the opposition. Smart, physical team play

I'm certainly guilty of pointing out the weaknesses of players, especially guys on the fringes of the best 22, but the reality is if those kind of guys play to their strengths they'll contribute regardless of their deficiencies.

I want the likes of Ben Kennedy, Wagner and JKH to mention but 3 to keep improving and putting their hand up. I don't see these three ( and others) as locks for the team. What it means is the likes of Petracca, Kent  and Hunt who are ahead of these 3 have to perform.

It contrasts with the days when we all knew that players got games because there was no one else to put in the team. We knew it and I am tipping the players knew it.

Good try Old dee but Kennedy averaged 17.3 disposals per game playing as a small forward with his highest a 29 disposal game against Collingwood. Thats more then Vandenberg, Garlett, Kent, Watts Hunt Brayshaw and few more who averaged lower then Kennedy.

You may be right RB.

IMO he is average and too short.

The powers that be got him from Collingwood because again IMO they thought he could improve on his performances with a fresh start.

All my Pie supporter friends tell me  he played the same way there and no one was disappointed when he left.

PS Roos thought the Prince was a good get and we know how that turned out. No one is infallible Roos included.

Not sure he'll ever be best 22, but I think he'll be an important role player in certain games against certain clubs.

He has a bit of X factor about him. And he definitely goes in hard.

Agree Old Dee. Kennedy has some ability, but doesn't have the desire to be an elite footballer. He'll probably have three games this year that absolutely thrill us, and ten that completely underwhelm. I'll be amazed if he gets another contract from us, or any club for that matter.

Too slow to be an outside/wing type.

Not enough tricks to be a crumbing forward.

Vanilla footballer, won't be around in 2018.

Sensible MFC supporters shouldn't have been disappointed with what we lost in this deal.

How I see it, we can't lose in this trade.  If BenKen is delisted at the end of this year, then we haven't really lost out.

Collingwood get a best 22 player, we delist the player we received 2 season later, but we didn't lose out?

Beats me to  stuie. I too am struggling to see no lose from that trade if BK does not make it.
