I just want to wish Zak Jones all the best in this weekends GF.

He is the first of the Jones boys to make to a GF.

in saying that I am tipping the Bulldogs.

Would like to see them win it after such a long drought.

Next on the list to win it would be the Demons.

All the hype about the Bulldogs this week has been insane, it could all end in tears very quickly.

Agreed, they may [play the game before it starts, bit like us in 2000, we looked so good up to the GF and then we just went to pieces.

Hope the Bulies win and then we win the next three like we did in 55, 56 and 57.

On a side note....when is the Swans COLA finally phased out?

BA, I think all clubs have the same salary cap next year. Lions, Suns, Swans and Giants are just left with the academy zones in which is just as much and if not more of an unfair advantage.

Great to see young Jones an important part of the Swans defence. He is a different cat that way he goes about it.

I want the Dogs to win. No question.

I think the Dogs are paving a way for our own set of youngsters. Effort is superior to top draft picks such as the Giants received.

If the Dee's can develop a similar desire to 'do it for their mates' I reckon We'll be in for a few solid years.

I should be happy for the Doggies supporters after their massive drought but I'm not. It's kind of like seeing your mate win tattslotto. Whilst it's fantastic for your mate, what benefit do you actually get out of it?

I hope Buddy kicks a goal after the siren to win the game as a result of a dubious free kick.

I could've sworn they won the flag last week.

I've never seen such elation and excitement after a game that wasn't a grand final.

Recon it will be over at quarter time or they will go goal for goal all day. Haven't been this excited about a GF for a few years.

Go Doggies

( Swans by 40 )

I think the Swans are taking a huge risk with McVeigh, could come unstuck for them. Maybe he will pull out before the game.

Along with Mills they could lose this at the selection table.

I guess we will see how it pans out on the day...

BA,  I vaguely recall you having a wager on the dogs to be premiers. Is that correct/still on?

It was correct mate but not it's not still on, I had :

Coleman : Kennedy @ $2.75

RS : Oliver @ $10

Brownlow : Danger @ $9

Flag : Dogs @ $12.50

x $10 outlay = $30,937

Would of been nice.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing....

Next year I will take a few each way and mix it up. Need to have at least 3 options for the flag.

Ok great, was thinking Swans COLA was just about wrapped up but was under the impression Suns and Giants has a couple of years left to run on theirs. Hopefully Brisbane's doesn't go back up.

I think Sydney's is gone (there's probably still contracts in there that use it) but a few years to go for Suns and GWS.

I recon the doggies played their grand final last week.

Be so hard to muster up that kind of desire again.

That said, who knows what their coach has put into their heads.

I really hope they win and it is a game that equals that of last week.

That game showed me how far our team has got to go to rival that kind of determination.

I don't think you can compare this GF with 2000. That Bombers side was absolutely unstoppable and had the greatest season in history.

The difference between the Dogs and Swans quality is a lot smaller than the Dees and Bombers of 2000.

There's no fairy tales on Grand Final day unfortunately.

What do you mean by this? The underdog has won before

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
