If Laverde  drinks his own bath water too he will fit in well with us.

Are you basing that on inside knowledge? inconsistency? youth? A few individuals? general observations? I'm not having a go, just genuinely curious.

Ignore him, mate. He is talking rubbish.

Thanks for posting - great stuff.

I like hearing confirmation of the philosophy. We need to develop the list we have - topping it up with players like Hibberd, Barlow and Thompson seems perfectly sound.

But otherwise our success will come from those already on our list including players like ANB and some others who struggled to get a game this year, but who will clearly become very good players. I'd also like to see Jack Grimes retained, if possible - but wholly understand if he wishes to leave.

In short, we are now a destination club. Can't think when we last, if ever, were. And we no longer seem to make desperate recruiting decisions - it all seems to be very considered/measured and then cleanly executed.

Thank you Paul Roos. And Peter Jackson.

I think we are still along way from a destination club.

I very much hope we're into Barlow as he'd be a great get and has some good footy left, as well as a lot of finals experience. Can't see us landing both him and Thompson though, surely spots for more young talent are at a premium.

And a big no to Wells. Too expensive and far too risky.

How's that working out for them?

Heard anything regarding the staying/going/re-signing of players other than Jesse Hogan?

Honestly, you are the most negative poster I have come across on any forum.

You may try to pass it off as just playfully trolling, but really it's a bit sad.

OK, so you and wisewhatsaname  drink the same bath water. Not my fault.

Go back and watch the replay of the second half of the Geelong game.  There are many camera crosses to our coaches box in the second half.  Have you ever seen  as much disappointment and shock in the coach box caused by the vagaries of inconsistency or youth?  Pizz poor culture still persists.

No mate. Just an old fashion passionate Dee's supporter and long time member. Like I said used to post years ago. Think my name may have been redlegs but it was that long ago I couldn't be sure.

I know one of the players fathers.

Oh and personally I think J Hogan will be at the Dee's next year. Just a gut feel.  As for the year after who knows.  I'd really consider trading him this year if his intentions are leaning towards not being at the club long term.

Two early picks or one early pick and a good player might get it done.  Having said that we will come out getting unders for him as the draft can be a lottery.  Just look at how many picks we have stuffed up over the years.  We always get [censored] over.

Pitty Freo can't trade next years first round pick, unless they pick up another one that is.  No one talks about WCE but I'm sure they would have their hat in the ring too.

Really hope he stays and signs a five year deal soon.

Darling not firing in finals may prompt them to ask the question.

A Hogan and Kennedy forward line would be disappointing to say the least.

Darling and Gaff for Hogan and 2017 First round?

Gaff signed a two year extension only a couple of months ago. Darling is a good second tall. Apart from that deal never happening, there's no way I would pay for it with Hogan and a first round pick.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
