I hardly think he is "exactly the sort of player we need".

Nor was Jack Watts until this year.

Fitzy's history isn't written yet and while I don't think it will be a great one there are many players I've misjudged before they've retired.

Fitzy seems like a ripping fella, gave what he could for us in shocking circumstances and is now about to play a final for the team that's won the last three flags.  Fair effort I'd say. Good luck Fitzy and I hope you win and are BOG, not because I like the Hawks but I just hate Geelong even more and you're the best thing on either team as far as I'm concerned.

I'd love to see both these teams struggle for a few years like most clubs do.  Hate them both.

I don't often understand your posts, and I very rarely respond as it is pointless. It's probably the fact I've been on a 15 hour flight and am now delayed by 5 hours for my next one....But sweet Jesus, are you the full quid?

Some poster was bemoaning MFC letting him go, just highlighting the scenario if he had stayed, you really need to read the whole topic if you have a five hour window  More than the full quid actually

Anyone going to the game tonight with binoculars that can provide up to the minute updates on Fitzy for the benefit of Demonlanders?

I'm at the game and hawks are warming up, I thought I saw Fitzy but it was just an adolescent giraffe.

Well good luck to Fitzy. He only played in his 3rd win the other week. Seglar on triple m footy just told a story when Fitzy first arrived at hawthorn he said to Shaun Burgoyne and said you have won more flags than I have games.

Good luck to him, I bet a few of his ex teammates are a bit jealous and I hope he takes his opportunity.

I always find it surprising on here when a player leaves or is delisted, most say good riddance, then if by circumstances they achieve something at another club, the petty childish comments rear up, the only player I would not wish success on would be Scully because he lied, and showed no integrity

Can imagine Fitzy and Gys ripping up the floor with lollipops and flouro necklaces .

Wonder why Gysberts couldn't manage an MFC polo or jacket - he must have had one by then.  An insight in to his idea of professionalism perhaps, or perhaps an insight in to how well (or otherwise) the MFC delivered its expectations of professionalism.

And Fitzy just... heh.

I said that if he has a big september it could be one of our worst list decisions for a long time knowing that we might be going into trade week looking for a ruck/forward while having persistent injuries to Dawes & Pedo. Plenty of people including me thought he showed potential and wasn't a list clogger last year. It's not an attack on the club, just a mere list management opinion, hardly petty and childish. Your vitriolic offended reaction with the "wow 6th post" and now calling my opinion petty, is actually what is childish and petty. Just keep it to a civil footy discussion without the attack if you disagree. It's not difficult

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
