Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

100% .... Our leadership is so lacking and even after an OK season I have always said it ..... Word is it is very known within the club ..... Lack of 2 way running and a touch of the sulks.

I thought vanders had a crack at lifting people today. Tried and was physical ... We really need another tall to ruck in the 22 ... Whenever Gawn is soundly beaten we have bad days.

Agree with the leadership, but Vanders is ordinary and if we're serious, won't be there in 3 years time.

Jones isn't in the class of any of those you mentioned.

All of the Success stories you mention would be selling vinyl cladding by now if they were in the same boat.

Probably sounds like a load of [censored] but I spoke with a father of a current player during the week who said the club and players were happy with ten wins and didn't care about making finals this year and were all about preparing for next season. Not sure if I buy into this but apparently it's what the player told his old man. I think the cue has been in the rack for the last couple of weeks.

I want my membership $$ back for the last 2 weeks then players.

If true, it doesn't matter because that attitude is likely to be unchanged next season

I can't see us finishing above 16th next year based on this performance. Seeing guys like hogan, petracca, brayshaw, hunt, stretch, frost, o Mac, Salem, weideman coming out and dishing up this after a good season or two experience against a bunch of experienced premiership winning has beens just makes me wonder. I refuse to acknowledge that it takes seasons to be fully ready physically and mentally to compete consistently at this level. I refuse to acknowledge that looking at other teams trajectories they have been through similar situations. I refuse to acknowledge that hogan is quite possibly well and truly on track to fulfill his potential when also compared to similar types. I just refuse to have any perspective at all because then who would I take out all my own pain and angst out on. My wife! I refuse to acknowledge where we've come from and that the large majority of those who have carried us at times could not in any reasonable way be asked to do it consistently. Perspective is for hippies and meditating monks. I refuse to notice where we are and where Geelong are in context of the season and how today needed to go. Roos is not welcome at any Melbourne function for the next 50 years. Jackson can go eat a bag of manure then regurgitate it into goodwins useless mouth. The consistent improvement in all aspects of our club. Literally every aspect of our club has been washed away today and never to be seen again until round one when we have a win and we are premiership favourites. I'm going to go and head butt a monk now.

I like it when the players parents and family come here to post and share their views.

Yeh right, players just couldn't be bothered postponing their holiday plans.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but one of the more interesting features on a bleak day was Hogan's run up for goal near the end.   It looked almost normal.  I love Hogan despite his indifferent year.  Gee he gets marked hard for a young player.

Hopefully he takes Petracca to the goal-kicking range.  His set shots are unfathomable for a quality young player.

Thank you. It's important I think to understand the emotional impact that places like this have on the boys and those close to them when they turn against their beloved team.

Positives today were Brayshaw and Salem. Shame Petracca can't string a full game together though

Salem was so creative today, it's a pity some of his teammates weren't able to take advantage of his clean possession.

And to think he's the first one some of the posters on here want to trade, there are a few I'd put in front of him.

Judging by the fact we haven't heard from picket on here, unless I've missed it, he must have been happy with today's effort, otherwise he would have indicated that maybe keeping Trenners isn't such a bad idea, unless he didn't think any of the players today needed replacing.

No I do but thought for arguments sake a 90 game player equates to a Tom Mcdonald so left him out... Probably add Nick Smith to the list though.. Just strengthens my point. Thanks.

In any case, winning would have been the best means of preparing for next year. The two are entirely compatible.

Really crap attitude from the club, if true. Another example, amongst our players uncanny ability to perform good one week then crap the other (incidentally against bottom teams) that the culture isn't there yet.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
