Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Geelong is reportedly willing to part ways with speedster Steven Motlop.

Motlop, who has played 109 games for the Cats, had struggled to maintain consistency this season, despite playing every game thus far in 2016.

The 25-year-old could find himself leaving the Cattery at season's end if a club shows interest in acquiring his services, according to SEN.

"My understanding is if an offer comes up (for Motlop) they'd be more than happy to trade him," Brett Anderson told SEN radio on Friday afternoon.

Motlop has kicked 149 goals in his career, including 34 so far this season. He booted five goals and collected 23 disposals in Geelong's 60 point win over Brisbane last weekend.

talented, Motlop's freakish skill and goal sense is often overshadowed by his lack of consistency and laconic nature at times on the football field.

He has spent seven season at Geelong after being selected with No.39 in the 2009 National Draft.

Can be good, but too inconsistent for me.

His ceiling is high and would be valuable if he didn't come at a high cost. If he can't find consistency in a place like Geelong though, hard to see it happening here. But perhaps a wedge between him and Chris Scott has grown over the last two years and needs a fresh start? Perhaps a lot will depend on the finals, if Geelong are ineffective and he doesn't play well, I can see him being floated for less than a first round due to this years form. He could be a valuable asset if he provides outside run as well as a valuable source for goals. He's kicked 30 this year.

Hard to take that story seriously.

Well, the bar has been set pretty low with the first poster Tom Mitchell rumour, at least this got a run on SEN.

Cats would want a first round pick for him.  We don't have it.

The new future pick change was designed so this phrase would never be muttered ever again. The point you're making is you don't think we should use our future first round pick?

This phrase never to be muttered again?  Please.  I think the club would be making a huge mistake in trading out another first round pick.  I don't mind how we did it last year, but to miss out on the first round again is not something we should be doing.  Not for Steven Motlop anyway.

We have a first round pick, it's just your opinion that we shouldn't use it is what I mean. No club will ever be without a first round pick to trade.

It's foolhardy to think that a change of scenery and time in our system might provide any given player a spark to recapture form/consistency, but we need a Motlop. And maybe he'd dig our game-plan? His name came up last year if I recall but the $$$ touted were obscene. And while I thought he might be worth something in the ball-park of pick 12-15 then, maybe it could get done for half-a-dozen or so less in this period. Not unmanageable. Second-round pick swap with a castaway. A Grimes to Richmond for (illegitimate) example. This may prove a far more palatable risk than any O'Meara play.

I've watched him very closely the last ten or so weeks primarily as I brought him into my SuperCoach team.

He may have some skill but he is incredibly soft and cracks the sads way to easy for my liking.

Definite flat track bully who jags a lot of his goals from the old "joe the gooses"

I'd rather Boomer at 38

When the Geelong players point and wave after a goal saying"nah, it was you mate," "nah great bump, handball, fake, assist "etc I just thought they looked like total pretenders..

Hope they get TB,Then recover, then get Ebola.

Unless they have already traded it ( ie in the previous year) as we did last year.

We have the 2017 first round pick to use as a trade, it's just Wisebloods opinion that it's off limits when he said "we don't have it"

I agree that it's not worth trading for Motlop.

I reckon he's off to either the Crows or the Tigers.

Perhaps a three way deal,

Crows first rounder - Tigers

Lids - Cats

Motlop - Crows

Tigers massive winners & Crows massive loosers if that were to occur.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
