I think  the company line is the www.melbournefc.com.au

however as you say Bbo if you want a discussion on our club and team you come here.

If there was only the MFC site I would have tossed in the towel on the MFC in 2012.

May the Good Ship Demonland sail on for many years to come with all the diverse opinion on show.

Really, really good, I was worried somebody might not understand, but I think sooner rather than later we will see Hogan on the backline....

I find it bemusing.  We've got a once in a generation forward who is barely 21.  He kicked 40 odd goals last year and will do the same again this year.  How many kids his age have the capacity to kick 7 in a game?  The list would be a small one.

Yet because we played one great game, and he has been down on his form a little of late, people actually don't want to bring him back into the side.  Because we've won 2 games without him it's almost as if it means we don't need him at all.  Madness.  All it confirms is that we have some serious talent and, when we work out how to use it more efficiently going forward with Hogan IN the side then we will be tough to stop.

If he is fit, he plays.  He won't be in the VFL.  Pedersen makes way for him and if anyone else, in this instance, thinks otherwise then they're having a laugh.

I can see where it's coming from. If it wasn't the best game we've played all year it would go mighty close. Pedo's work rate is terrific and he brings some seniority as well as versatility with his rucking ability if required. The adage of "if it ain't broke" is tempting.

There's two sides to it, and Pedo will be mighty unlucky.

(was going to type "Pedo will be very stiff" but thought against it)

He will be very unlucky indeed, no doubt about it mate.  But as I said, if Hogan is right then he plays, and it will more than likely be at the expense of Pedersen.

If someone said to me at the start of the year we would be arguing after round 20 whether to bring Hogan back in because we just beat the top of the ladder hawks who were on a 9 game winning streak without him, i would have been ecstatic.

I know I sound like a broken record, but Harmes will not be dropped - the current MFC coaching staff do not drop players for poor disposal when they're otherwise doing their required work. They love Harmes.

Yeah I do tend to agree with that outlook you have too, but these are the changes I would make, not necessarily the ones I think will happen. Really think ANB should come in one way or another, and after being at the game and watching the replay twice I've just though Harmes' turnovers were pretty costly at certain stages. I love his energy and the way he's really adopted the run at all costs game plan, but there were times our disposal was still really poor yesterday.

I wonder if Petracca will be rested ( output seems a little down the last couple ) and bring in Salem on a HFF?

A very nice dilemma, for a change.

I hope that Hogan is really 100% and not 90% if they consider bringing him back.  Pedo would be the obvious but hugely unlucky omission. But I suspect yesterday has finally settled any discussion re him vs Dawes.

Pretty simple I reckon, we want to win next week.

IN HOGAN

OUT WEED

Pederson was better than Weed, and as good as the kid looked I'd prefer Hogan vs Port, likewise Pederson. No other change unless injury.

cheers to Omac for starting to look very good.

It's not the popular opinion but I'd be looking at resting/dropping Weideman, not Pedersen, to bring Hogan back.

Weideman is going to be a player, but right now he is nowhere near fit enough. He was spent by half time and couldn't move in the fourth quarter. I want us to give the game against Port our absolute best crack and I'm not sure Weideman is going to afford us that opportunity given his fitness.

Won't be fussed either way but just a thought.

It's not just the high-risk stuff he is messing up though, he's missing targets 20 metres away and/or when under no pressure.

His kicking is becoming a liability and he needs to work on it if he is going to stay in the side long-term.

I'm not sure he's adding enough otherwise for him to be a lock at selection.

I just can't understand why people want to all of a sudden start talking about which players will be going out, five seconds after the players who did play brought us probably the best win we've had in 15 years.

I can, Wiseblood is a sensationalist!!

In: Hogan, JKH

Out: Garlett, Pedersen

Pedo would be very stiff in this case. He would be out for team balance alone.

Garlett would be back in the magoos to get some form. I reckon we need to take a look at JKH for a couple of games to see if he is worth persisting with.

I guess we now know who your new whipping boy will be now that Toump is gone.

Indeed, the fact that it is you who is the one questioning me shows me that my call is indeed a reasonable one.

He kicked four for Casey on the weekend and was named BOG. Not sure of his contract status but I would say that he is borderline to be kept on if he can't show something in the next little bit. Give him a game or two and see how it works out. Also Garlett is out of form and might need time to get his touch back at Casey.

I don't think that not promoting a young kid who kicked 4 at VFL in his first game back after not playing for most of the season means that the "non promotee" is a new whipping boy.  He needs more game time but just may have resurrected his career.

Can't sign off on that. The Weed did a lot right on Saturday, two kicks, two goals and numerous handballs to set up others. When I think back he didn't fumble a ball, very composed kid, yes he could have done more but what he did do he did well. He should get another game.

You are delusional, I have never maligned JKH!!  Ever! So don't go putting words into my mouth! i may have doubted his capacity to stay on the this but nothing more than that!

However, now that you bring him up, unfortunately IMO he won't be at MFC nest year!

Push another barrow !!

No I brought that up in the context as an example of your previous clown like behavior on this board.

In the future, if you don't want people taking shots at you, don't start off by being disrespectful.

Fair call. I was under the impression that he had played a bit more earlier in the year. (I know he had struggled to get on the park this year).

If it was his first for the year, you are righw. Let him play it out at Casey.

We don't just trot out the company line.

Gee a few here really take themselves seriously.

Everybody can have an opinion, including me , but in the big scheme of things they mean diddley squat

We had a great win at the weekend. But hey let's find somebody to drop to display our superior footy knowledge.

Like we have all got it right in the past

I don't think Weideman will keep his place ... both Hogan and Dawes (OK, I know) should be available. I'd take Pedersen over Weideman at this stage.

Otherwise, maybe a mystery injury? Oliver got a heavy knock, Bernie's nose and Jetta's everything.

The player I'd like to see is Salem, but not sure if he's ready. Is 2 games back in at Casey enough?

Also BenKen, must be an outside chance.

etc.

Difficult call. If we're picking the team to win and no other thoughts I think Weeds goes out for Hogan. Weeds had a very productive first game but Pederson was better and I think he and Jesse would combine better.

If we are picking the team with one eye on the future then Pederson for Hogan. Weeds and Jesse are (hopefully) going to play plenty of senior footy together for a long time and the sooner they can start working together the better.

Thats just my opinion on it. Either way one of the them will be unlucky.

But Hogan comes in if he's fit because he is our best forward, I don't even know how there could be a debate on it.

Probably an easy way out for the selectors too, who won't want to drop Pedersen.

Having said that, pretty hard to drop a debutant after a good game and we've seen earlier in the year that the FD is more than willing to sacrifice the short term to get games into the young players they rate.

Harmes does everything ANB offers and more, his outside pace, marking around the ground and so on definitely put him a few spots above ANB for mine.

we're definitely trying to play ANB as a mid, and because of that you just have to look at who he's competing with to understand why he can't get a consistent run of games.

I suspect he's a pretty strong chance to request a trade at years end

SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
