Still loving this Bruce-less commentary team. It's amazing what the substitution of the thoroughly unappealing Luke Darcy with the mature head of Dennis Cometti does for the Saturday night team of BT, Richo & Ling.

I'm convinced that whole Saturday night commentary performance is all a deliberate act by Channel Seven.

That comparison has been made many times.

On a side note, who is the last decent South Australian we have recruited besides Stretch or Trengove?

Rivers?

What was the free to Cox at half time siren for?

A tug of the arm I think. I actually rewinded it to come up with SOMETHING to justify it.

The ump wanted a cheer from the crowd.

Vince and Rivers are/were handy.

The umpire is used to thinking big players losing contests to small players is so rare that it must be a jumper tug or hand obstruction. Nah it's just an American player

Why is it that you can bump a bloke in the head when running backwards for a mark (which you entirely miss) and not be penalized just because you had your eyes on the ball? Sure Varcoe was brave, but there are lots of other situations where a player is looking at the ball and gives away a free for high contact.    And lots of frees for front on contact when both players are going for the ball. But if you are brave it somehow forgives the infringement.

The only good thing about watching this match is realising how much better then both of them we are.

And on another topic i just noticed Howe taking a kick out. First i've noticed him all night!

Sue have to totally disagree, the game then is netball. One of the beauties of our game is players coming from all angles with there eyes on the ball.

Thomson.

Agree better player. But think Thompson was 2000 draft and Rivers 2002.

Bernie, of course. I was thinking more in past 10 years therefore after Rivers.

Scott Thompson?  He turned out pretty well, so I guess our recruiting team got that one right, even if he did go home.

I think Aish has put the Toumpas comparisons to bed tonight

Now that's the trouble with making early calls ;-)

Have to give Aish credit. Don't think Toump would of held onto that mark.

Gee the Pies stink.  But so do the Tigers.  Which club bites the bullet first and gives their coach the flick?  Neither Dimma or Buckley are going to get them back into finals contention.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
