Watering the ground is a good way for Tyson to not get caught with it. He's a gun in the wet, just needs to improve his burst a bit so he can do it on a dry day. Plus watch tapes of the good parts of Priddis' game.

If this is Gus with some lingering issues then I'd hate to see him fully healthy! I think it's a guy who's missed a lot of footy and has barely played at the top level. A few poor handballs in traffic and a couple of less than ideal kicking options let him down, but his hands around the packs, tackling and zip all looked good to me. Plus it was nice to see him kick well on his left. A dual sided clever stoppage player is a handy weapon and he'll tidy up those handballs.

Gawn and Jones were immemse, how we didn't win that was just nuts. Brayshaw has become the turnover king, why has he gone so far backwards from last year? OMac, again badly outmuscled in a few duels that cost two goals, wet conditions helped mask his glaring flaws. I'd rather see him developed in the 2s. T Mac is taking the [censored] surely if he's seriously asking for $700k a year. Kicking direct to the opposition like he does is just Auskick stuff. We should have killed the Eagles today who went in top heavy and have the softest underbelly of any top 8 team I've ever seen.

Pretty much spot on P-man.  He had 20 touches to go with 9 tackles... but also 6 clangers.  He will clean that up in time, especially after missing so much footy.

What I do like about him is that he seems to make the right decision with ball in hand.  How often does he hit a target inside 50 or fire off a handpass to the right player?  As you say, he will be a very good player at the very least.

Deplorable umpiring in the last that made it very difficult to build momentum. I never knew how blatant the bias was in Perth because we always get smashed there. It was clear the umps were looking for any reason to award a free.

What really bothers me is that I clearly remember the feeling at this time in the 2010 season. We had improved earlier in the season, we had what looked like a very promising young team, we put up a few "good performances" against pretender teams (though we still couldn't beat any, except for a day out against the Swans) and a few shockers against sides we should have beaten.

But we were OK about it because, well, we looked so good for next season, we had so much bloody "potential". Everything was going to be fine.

Then, as we know, it all turned to excrement in 2011.

So this was a real "late 2010" game. The way we wrote the 'script back in 2010 is that we'll lose badly to the teams we should beat (Suns & Blues), and we'll "perform well" but still lose to the pretender teams Port & Geelong. And "better performance" against pretender teams definitely doesn't mean that it'll all come together next year. Not by a long shot. We've just got it all to do again.

I just like that he's getting more of the ball again. His clearance game has improved too.

A lot of the game was played 40-70 metres out from our goal in a congested mess. It's no wonder when they did manage to break out and go inside 50 it was on a break and they had space to work in.

The one against Gawn was bad - the eagle player just threw his arms back and fell over.

bottom line we lost a game we should have won!

Cant question their commitment & toughness but just need to work on the polish & FFS Mcdonald whilst not alone turned over the ball twice by foot which & one cost us a goal, for an experience player & all the great defending this lets him down on many occasions!

So am I over this stuff! and I agree with Uncle! Of course we are so far advanced under Roosy that we can cause .... upsets like St. Kilda vs Dogs!! But of course both teams are so much more advanced than us!

Always! Spirit and endeavour by some will only get you so far! We have too many "Iffy" players who tantalize, produce when inferior opposition becons, but then when real opportunity awaits we find... the skills and other intangibles fail us! And so it is and is and is..... 

Have we really improved in the last x number of years??

The Melbourne Demons , a bit like when I was a young kid eyeing the beautiful girl next door wondering wondering but never ever succeeding because, just not quite good enough! and so it goes on and on and onnnn !
