Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Around The Grounds - Round 14

Our game against Freo in 2 weeks is a Paul Roos statement game.

Time and time again we travel up to the NT and put in disgraceful performances. And time and time again we can't back up after 6 day breaks.

If we can't beat a 3 and 10 side on neutral soil, then serious questions need to asked about our progress.

Pretty pathetic crowd for a "power club" with a winnable game on a Friday night time slot.

Yet we don't get any Friday night games because we don't draw crowds!!??

We would have done far better tonight IMO.

Just typical of the AFL's playing favorites - keep the rich rich and the poor dependent.

PS Fremantle are pathetic tankers.

PPS Who is that 38 Collingwood who can't tackle correctly?

EFC have had I think 3 friday night games and 1 Sat night game.

The average winning margin for Friday night games this year must be close to 50pts. Great viewing.

The argument about must perform to get the slots is nonsense and has always been nonsense. Amazing that some her believe otherwise.

We can't lose to this rabble. Surely not.

I might put the tv remote in bubble wrap just in case.

Like Jeremy, Treloar was obviously sold a lemon by the Pies, in more ways than one...

Talking about being sold a lemon, why are we forced to endure the styling's of Hamish McLachlin? Regrettably, watched that stilted pre-game show last night. All the sincerity of a Lada salesman and I cannot help but think he's landed on his feet through association.

And please don't tell me he's the replacement for Cometti when he retires. I suspect he is.

Amazing what happens when teams come to play, obviously doesn't guarantee victory but it gives you a chance. Saints pressure has been good so far, like the Bulldogs they move it forward quickly at all costs, at times with no defined target but this puts the opposition defense under massive pressure.

The way the Saints demolished us at Etihad, and watching them demolish Geelong there tonight... We are no chance against them. Pisses me off they've had it over us for so long!

They'll be miles too quick for us. Cats are flustered.

Geezzzzz.   Easy set shot misses will cost Saints dearly.

Saints have snagged some great wins the past two seasons. Meanwhile, we keep beating Collingwood, Richmond and the two QLD sides, struggle against everyone else and can't even beat teams around us on the ladder.

Adelaide, Freo, Eagles, Saints.

We need to take it up to these four.

I hate both clubs, but gee that was a great finish.  Thought the Saints were done when Membrey missed but they stuck at it, full credit to them.

Pretty much this. Hate both clubs (Geelong because Geelong and St Kilda because we are incapable of winning against this shitstain of a club) but credit to the Saints for holding on. They are going to rip us a new one in a few weeks if they play like they did tonight.

Interestingly, only 5 bottom 10 teams have defeated a top 8 team all season, including Carlton, Collingwood and St Kilda defeating Geelong.

Are the Cats getting ahead of themselves? Many long suspected that was the case last year in Enright's 300th.

St Kilda have officially overtaken us as a club.

Although it's arguable they were never behind us considering they keep beating us and we've only been 1 spot above them on the ladder the last 2 years.

Great win by the Saints by finally taking a massive scalp.

People keep saying they'll drop off once their older brigade drop off and retire. But you can't understate the importance of having them around. They were always ahead of us in development because they had blokes who had played finals and Grand Finals, who were guiding their young brigade. This team would never lose to Essendon, or lose to a team for 10 straight years, no matter how bad they are.

They'll once again rip us a new one at Etihad.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
