So true, the bubble can burst so easily for players. And like many things, everyone has their use-by-date. You can't help but think that these 3 may all be gone season end. i hope for Trenners but time is running out for him as well.

They may be, but i wouldn't be at all suprised to see two of those three still running around with us next year.

Am hoping to get along on Sunday, however given it's a day game and mother's day, i think i'm going to be pushing it up hill with the other half.

I've heard that Matty Jones actually dislocated a rib. Never heard of that happening before and it sounds bloody painful. He's likely to miss 1-2 more.

I've done that from coughing. Bloody hurts. You can't breathe deeply because the lung expansion makes it feel like your being stabbed in the chest. Had trouble sleeping too.

St Kilda defence played rings around ours. They were chopping and changing so much that Jetta, Dunne and McD had no idea and completely lost contact - result one of the smallest players on the field left to defend against one of the tallest. Really frustrating to watch but so obvious that I wondered why wasnt the runner out. St Kilda must have been licking their lips - easy pickings.

Saints killed us on the outside much like they did against the Pies. Once you've used your pace to break through the zone defenders have no chance and will often be caught out with a mismatch.

Sounds like yet another case of "fail to plan, plan to fail" ☹️

Hulett not named anywhere as far as I can see. Mystery illness of the week, our 5th concussion, or just player management.

That's your answer.  Weideman was rested last week, Hulett's turn this week.

I don't mind that, as it shows we are learning that young players need to be developed properly, not damaged. The fact that it comes on the back of a good game, shows we are prepared to follow the process and not chop and change on whim.

In the long run, this will prove to be a benefit to the players and the club.

I assume Brayshaw is being rested again. I hope it is not a longer term concussion, he really seemed out of sorts in his last comeback game. He would be a huge loss if there were long term implications for us here.

He's got concussion. Therefore, he doesn't play.

A few weeks ago, the Northern Blues comprehensively beat Casey Scorpions Development League team. Today, they're scoreless at quarter time. Scorps 5.3.33.

Yarran Jaffer-Williams is doing well and kicked the first goal.

Interesting to see what ANB and Trenners do this week considering that the Blues don't have an established midfield group. I know our boys are young, but the 2 of them just seem so much older than they are. Without the others (Michie etc) around the pack, will be nice to see Trenners, ANB and Grimes really play huge games.

Newton is a nice addition to those guys. He has been working his way back into game time and form over last 3 weeks. Reckon his numbers will jump soon.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
