Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I feel the same way, although I do understand those who won't be happy with that.  I don't think we are far enough down the track yet that we can thrash teams, even those like Carlton, but another good display of football and a win with no injuries will do me very nicely.

its not about how good we are, its how poor Essendon are.

we will win by 100+   we will be on top of the ladder 8 points clear of the Hawks

For me  - this is the test of the well worn comments by all the coaches at the MFC - "we have a team of competitors". If our team competes at is should and can, the scoreboard will take care of itself.

Sorry nutbean I made a mistake I have the smugness bit in 2016. We will win ten games it is done and dusted.

So much so that I have stopped looking at who it selected in the team because it does not matter we will win ten games no matter who we select.

I won't be happy with just a win, I want retribution, if for nothing else the money they cost me last time they met. It's as if some supporters are preparing themselves for a potential loss. This game is Hammer Time at the G. Next week we play north in Tassie, they have pushed us around for years. We need a four qtr effort this week, minimum of 80 points. Yes we will gain confidence from another win but we will gain even more by burying a side and this is one of the few chances we'll have this year to do so.

Wow OD you are a new man. The psychotherapy has done wonders. This must mean something. I was going to post a cautious comment like I will stop worrying when we have a consistent run of sustained success but that sounds a little pessimistic. So I will say we should win this one.

I wish I was as confident as you all, but the mfcss in me says let's not get ahead of ourselves. In all fairness we were very lucky GWS kicked themselves out of the match last week. GC had Ablett tearing Dons a new one. I don't think Dons will be as bad as people think.

I'd be happy with just the win as a loss would be devastating to handle.

In all fairness although they had more scoring shots and we had more inside 50's, so were just as wasteful as the Giants.

Really hoping we destroy the Bombers!

We will win this week Ernest but the following week is sadly a loss I think.

The Roos will be too good for us in 2016 next year however look out Mr. Scott.

I agree, however it shows how reliant we are on Hogan to play well. Davis took him out of the match and Dons will no doubt look at how he did it very closely.

Frankly I'm amazed by the level of confidence here

This is exactly the type of game we have previously lost. Opposition is struggling, coming off a good win, high expectations... Hope I'm wrong and we do smash them, but I'm not so confident.

I think Minimal changes but if we feel so inclined I would think the first 2 might occur

Dunn for O Mac inj

Brayshaw for Harmes

and then possibly

Heretier L for either M Jones or if wet a tall possibly Frost! I wouldn't drop Pedo.. far too valuable in a variety of positions!

Suspense over: Brayshaw, Lumumba return for Melbourne  http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-03-31/brayshaw-lumumba-return-for-melbourne

B: Neville Jetta, Tom McDonald, Heritier Lumumba
HB: Matt Jones, Colin Garland, Christian Salem
C: Bernie Vince, Jack Viney, Aaron vandenBerg
HF: Jack Watts, Cam Pedersen, James Harmes
F: Dean Kent, Jesse Hogan, Jeff Garlett
Foll: Max Gawn, Nathan Jones, Dom Tyson
I/C: Angus Brayshaw, Clayton Oliver, Tom Bugg, Ben Kennedy
Emg: Lynden Dunn, Billy Stretch, Sam Frost
In: Lumumba, Brayshaw
Out: Oscar McDonald (ankle), Sam Frost

Doesn't bode well for Dunn in that he doesn't appear to be an 'automatic' for starting 22.

Great to see Gus back.

For two blokes I would like to dedicate Saturdays annilhilation of Essendon.

Kevin Sheedy for his arrogance over the years when we have suffered more often than not when he was coach and

Neeld, this bloke potentially put us back 20 Years, ( Thank Christmas he was sacked)  now with Essendown, It woud give me no greater pleasure to inflict

"The worst Defeat ever seen on a footy field" to this down and out team of nothings!

I'm not malicious, I just want the Karma Bus to go round the corner and SMACK EM straight between the eyes!

I'm sick of this 'lucky' stuff from our own supporters. We were the better side on the day full stop.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
