Pretty annoying and embarrassing hearing KB say that Boyd, Moore and Daniher may go past Hogan because of his kicking.  He's an excellent field kick and we all know he's accurate, but the broader footy community think he can't kick.

I don't care what his run up looks like as long as he kicks 'em

His last three paces are pretty smooth and last years 44.19 is much better average that most goal kickers.

His miskicks affect his distance not his accuracy that I have observed.

a bit of honest dialogue please folks. His run up on sunday was different to last year and was extremely poor. He will not have an acceptable kicking efficiency if it remains that way. it needs to be rectified and im sure the club will be looking in to it. like mj. when commentators said drexler? was better cause he was much better 3 pointer shooter, mj came out and drained 5 treys in the first quarter of that final.

I completely agree.

Hogan is tremendously competitive.  He won't want this sort of speculation dragging on and he'll do what's necessary to put it to bed.  If he doesn't, I've misread him.

It just depends what you think is necessary to put it to bed, im guessing that in your opinion it will be to change his run up completely?
In order to put these issues to bed, he needs to go back to what he was doing last year (which still includes the stutter step) and ensure that his set shot performance is equally as good/ if not better.

In January 2014 I noted a half dozen posters who followed me around like a puppy dog to complain at every conceivable opportunity.  I only looked at it recently (didn't know what it was until I opened it) and saw your name on it.  It surprised me, because I'm not that familiar with you as a poster.  But there you go, you're a heel nipper.

I don't mind the stutter as long as his last few strides are fluid, but the ball hold and swaying it from his left leg to right leg in a staccato fashion doesn't help him build momentum and in my view won't help his confidence.

lol, life must be moving pretty sweet for you in order to note posters who disagree with you on a forum down. I am not following you around, I enjoy reading your opinion as it is often different and like to try and draw a debate and explanation out of you, or possibly allow you to view things from a different perspective.

I agree, the issue with his kicking on the weekend was the ball drop, he has always had an awkward ball drop, all I am saying is that i disagree with most of the conception on here that his run up effects his kicking, when he could be doing six backflips and rolling on the ground as long as his last 4 steps were straight and fluent it wouldn't matter. But again, fixing issues such as ball drop and kicking motion are nearly impossible if not addressed early (talking 16s) other wise muscle memory is pretty tough to overcome.

(Side note: January 2014 would probably be Jack Watts threads, im guessing as your opinion on him is very contrast to mine)

Disgrace?  Really?  Sure Jesse's technique could be more effective but to think it will affect his contract is a bit of OTT hyperbole from the Ox!

If Ox is so concerned, and the true Demon at heart, how about offering to help him, not just criticizing?  A quite uncharacteristic outburst

Jesse is what every club needs - a star - and that means he won't do all the team things all the time and he'll drop the odd mark and be shitted off with himself like he was on Sunday - but you wear this because he can do the miraculous and is arrogant and what great side of the past did not have a healthy does of arrogance.

As to his kicking, his stutter run-up was also under the microscope last year and once it was brought to his attention he worked on his routine and fixed it. Jesse is a very accurate kick, he's just not a thumping kick like Neiter. He'll be embarrassed by his set shots on Sunday and will solve it by the time we play GWS.

Kb has lost the plot, Hogan led the league in contested marks last year and kicked slighly less goals, then all three of them combined in his first year.

It would want to improve FAST! A Key forward with inconsistent set shot routine can be game changing! And not in a positive way!

He would be wise to watch Peter Mc Kenna's Flawless goal kicking routine , who for mine was the most dead eye, natural precision goal kicker in History. Hardly ever missed from any distance, on any angle! A genious!! 

And could kick effortlessly 60 M
