Cam Pedersen - anything to worry about?

I was at the game but forgot to tape it.

Pedersen's bump in the goal square didn't look good at the game but iย don't have the benefit of a TV replay.

Any concerns ?

ย

I reckon he's gone. Which is a massive shame because he's making a reasonable fist of it at the moment.ย

Wouldn't surprise me if he gets a week

Commentators made no mention of it whatsoever and they're usually pretty good at that.

I reckon initial contact was with with shoulder (which took the brunt of the impact) but slid up for low impactย to the head. ย Careless at worst.

ย

One weekย

ย

if he gets a week for that Jeremy Cameron should get 5

Radio coverage mentioned it a fair bit. SEN saying he will miss at least the first round.

ย

I thought it was a fair bumb, the ball was right in front of him, first contact was the shoulder and low contact would be overstating it, if he gets weeks for that it may as well be a non contact sport

ย

Contact was clearly to the Saint's shoulder, the Saint having bent forward as Pedo went to bump him. ย No head contact. The 'victim' was uninjured ย

But being a MFC player he will go for 1 or maybe 2

ย

Yes, he is in trouble. Largely because of the lottery system underlying the MRP. Anything could happen.

I can still remember Moloney getting 2 weeks for NOT hitting someone!

that'll teach him to miss.

It looked like he intentionally went to bump and got the player in theย head so that will probably be aย week only because there wasn't anyย injury to the other player otherwise it would be longer.

Might be hard to fit both he and Frost in anyway and whilst both offered something I doubt either nailed a spot today. Might save the coaches from a tricky decision.ย

His biggest problem is that he clearly took his eye off the ball and focused on the player.

Only if they use the Moloney precedent- 2 weeks for not hitting the head.

Look again, ILLD:. Contact was to the shoulder. ย

Hit under the shoulder which forced the arm upwards and made it look high.

Will get off.

Or I'll bake Stuie a kilo of hash cookies.

Pedos last quarter was inspiring.

Agreed. He clearly took his eye off the ball and this could cost him

ย

If we lose Pederson for one week and GWS lose Cameron, we still will be better off. Not having him as well as the loss of McCarthy will be a massive loss for their forward potency.ย

why the [censored] would you keep your eye on the ball when you are going to bump someone. crazy statement

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturdayโ€™s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFLโ€™s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
