Essendon vs Melbourne MCG Round 2

Featured Replies

I literally just had a 45 min argument with one of my mates in the pub who still argues that essendon didn't test positive so they did nothing wrong and there's no proof they took banned drugs. He also thinks the WADA code is crap and doesn't relate to afl.

This is the kind of people we are dealing with.

I hope we smash them but im so worried we will lose.

They are, forever, drug cheats.

They still dont understand this. They call us tankers. Etc. Stuff them.

We actually need everyone we can to come and support the dees.  Show them the afl fan likes clean sport.

Haha no but it's weird that's where your mind went ;) I'll be verbally abusing them and keeping my own belt tight.

They could have Hird , dank and the weapon lead the march to the G all holding hands and singing kumbaya followed  closely behind by the 34 , and then vlad and dill and the Essendon cronies and then stumbing aimlessly at the rear would be slobbo holding a casket of wine , 3 day old beard and shouting obsenities like the village drunk. And we in the crowd can all rise as one and give them a standing ovation as they stand side by side in the middle of the G "Well done boys ... so brave for coming out today ... and thanks again for hijacking the game of Australian rules football for the past 4 years , we've had a lot of fun along the way and we'll never forget what you did. But now if you don't mind stepping aside please, as we've come to play football today, and our boys have  something very special planned for your team".

Bring on the pummelling !

D9 I have my reasons as stated earlier perhaps in another topic.

Yes MCC-MFC member and my understanding is that the MCC forward money based on the home team, EFC. We can agree to disagree, you can scream for me.

Sure you have your reasons mandee, but if your main one is based upon an understanding that all your money goes to the home team rather than actual knowledge it is so, then I think you may need to do a bit more research. That's not saying I know otherwise, moreso that it's best to know rather than assume before taking a firm stance.

God I hope we [censored] them by 10+ goals.

If they wheel out Turd i expect Melbourne people to go feral

This could get nasty....

Arms?  A mass mooning would probably make the news, but no doubt they would find a way to spin it as good for the Dons ...

I think we have a winner, that's classic.

I'll be there, giving support to the mighty Dees & giving essendrugs hell every chance I get!!!

Attended that loss to the Essewho's last year & had they not put barricades on the Westgate I probably wouldn't be here. Just win the thing.

I think that Dees supporters should be getting to as many games as we possibly can. While I'm sure that some disagree, I strongly believe that the crowd can make a difference in the result of a game.

Let alone the bloody umpires!!!

What they are creating is a very dangerous situation here...the march will incite the idiot factor.

The AFL need to step in if they know what's good for the image of the game otherwise it will get out of hand, I can guarantee it.

I agree. Do they expect Demon supporters and members to just sit and suck this crap up

it could be a huge punch on

hope it is.....

Couldn't think of a better time to demand handing back a Brownlow if allowed into the game.

Thanks Henry Bolte !!!!   Have the police found the report into the car accident yet ?????????

I'm old enough to remember that it wasn't a missing "report" but a "mislaid" blood sample .

Ridiculous suggestion.

We are ALWAYS badly outnumbered at these games, and with the imbiciles turning up in their moron droves, with an "us against the world" mentality, I will lay all I have that our supporters come out second best.

I agree with the earlier suggestion that the afl should step in and can this idea, but you just know that they wont. The only chance we have to shut them up and turn the day into a fizzer, is to jump them early, and pile on the goals.

I hope our mob is up to it, but from recent experience, I fear we will be walked over, both on and off the field.

I'd try to be a little more subtle about things. How about:

"Melbourne...it's in the blood."

The way I see this situation is this. No club in this AFL Competition that condones Drug Cheats should be able to tell me, or any other Teams Supporters, how to conduct myself in support of my team.

Wonder how much a full page Headline would cost in H/S or Age with this sort of a heading. It would cover us from being the patsies because no other Club this year is going to be put in this very public position of possible humiliation by capitulation and acceptance, and therefore subservience. I wouldn't be surprised if this tactic could be deliberate by the AFL and Essendon to stop any carry on for the rest of the season by anyone else including the Premier Team.

This whole event needs to be looked at by people who matter, not the riff raff.

Exactly. It was the blood alcohol samples that were taken at the hospital that were tampered with.

I'm old enough to remember all this, but I don't.  You guys are worrying me....

If I was in the country I'd be there in a heartbeat

Go and support the boys and hopefully we give them a mighty smacking!

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
