Ridiculous Jack Viney rumour

Speaking of rumours

Anyone hear about Mr Senior Viney nominating for next years pre season draft. Goody reckons Todds physical presence in the midfield will help the young mids like Brayshaw,Oliver and co and is strongly considering redrafting him. Barrett all over this. About as much truth as the Jack one.

Every interview Jack does, he always refers to the club as 'we'. Even when referring to new players on our list.

It's like in his brain he is the club. That's how locked in he is with the MFC.

It would take one big falling out for Jack to ever leave.

Barrett isn't going for credibility here.

He's trolling, which he has done to the MFC for years.

And it generates hits and notoriety in its own way. I'm certain he wouldn't care at all if the vast majority hate-watches him on Footy Classified; he couldn't or else he'd have already chucked it in by now.

Not really sure how Damo got dragged into this and people are having a crack. He hasnt put anything on social media since jan and pretty sure he wouldnt believe a silly story someone put on big footy. He is a bit better than that.

It's classic demonland, everyone lapping up a rumor of a rumor.   Barrett hasn't said [censored] and OP provided no links but nah purple must be talking [censored] again. I hate him as much as anyone but he is usually on the money regarding rumours and would know Viney barring a massive fallout will never leave us.

I reckon there's some truth to this.

There's so many dismissive, arrogant and blasé comments - on Facebook posts from Fox Footy, AFL and the like - when Melbourne is mentioned in positive news stories (which they mostly are these days). "They're still a basket case", "They'll always be a rabble", "The most fight you'll see from Melbourne all year" (in relation to TMac and Viney stoush) and so on.

Fans of clubs like Essendon, Collingwood, Richmond still refuse to believe that we could be any good this year. The media are similar. So many journos have actually tipped us to finish lower this year than last (this makes absolutely no sense but whatever they're the experts).

It doesn't bother me, because we know better. Maybe they have a right to be like that given how crap we've been in recent years. But I think many must know things have changed and I think it's fear and wishful thinking as much as anything.

It's going to make it so much sweeter when we prove them wrong.

I don't blame anybody for disrespecting us. We have been a disgrace for 9 years. No doubt we have improved plenty in the last 2 years but there is still a very long way to go before we have earned anybody's respect.

A pattern with these kind of rumours is that if they are still around after a couple of months then the chances dramatically increase that they may be true. We had seen that with Ablett, Scully, Buddy and Frawley for starters. The rumours just surge along and develop like a tsunami. Spurious rumours fizzle out quickly. I hope this one is forgotten come round one. At this stage I don't expect Viney to take any notice but if the talk persists I would expect him to debunk this rumour emphatically.

Another rumour going around (via the Port board on big footy ) is that Neal-Bullen is chronically home sick and that Port Adelaide will get him at the end of the year, in exchange for a token draft pick.

two things i'd add to this, there would be another SA team keen on him I reckon, and we certainly wouldn't accept a token pick.

Pick the name of an Adelaide boy and fill in the gaps ... Same rumour, different name

And why wouldn't they all be homesick for Adelaide?

ANB loves Melbourne. His parents are over here every other weekend. His younger brother, whom mum thinks has every bit of ability that Alex has if not more, follows the Dees closely and would love to join him in Melbourne.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
