Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Glad to see she is doing her job...we have another one working that is passionate Kangas supporter who has equal parts of North Melbourne love on her instagram. I just find it very odd that the club employs passionate supporters of other clubs. I am uncertain how you can have two teams ... but i guess that is coz I am one-eyed and passionate.

However, I still believe that it is inappropriate for MFC employees to be posting photos in support of other clubs. it isn't a good look.

I doubt it's illegal to discriminate on the basis of the football team someone might support (even though it is illegal to do so on the basis of religion, which is the next best thing)...but having non-Melbourne supporting staff members has a definite upside. For a start, they're dispassionate and likely to make decisions with their head rather than their heart. It probably doesn't matter so much in the role of membership officer, but the principle should still apply for any job at any level, other than players.

Wonder what they are doing compared to us to get their membership turning over better than us when they finished behind us and their prospects don't look any better than ours.

St Kilda supporters are renown for having very deep pockets. For a club that's only won one premiership by one point in over a hundred years they do ok really.

31,661 today.  Up about 220 in one day!.

MFC is having a 'Membership' day tomorrow with KB/SEN plugging the club during the day.

Carlton got 500 on their equivalent SEN day, last week.  Can we beat that?

So that's 791 more members required to surpass our round 1 membership record of 32, 451.

approx 32,500!!!  Roos just said on SEN that there was a ring around last night!

So we have already beaten the pre round 1 record.

We will certainly break last years figure of approx 37,000 and the 40,000 will be in sight.

As always Ox’s passion for the MFC shone brightly this morning when he called for Melbourne people to buy memberships.

Edit 1 :  Viney was just on and said we have 32,643.  He said all players and staff were part of the ring around last night and Garlett won the award for signing up the most members.  Gold pass tickets on the line!

He also said that prospective members reactions to the calls were excitement about the club whereas in previous years he gets the 'don't waste my time' line.

Edit 2:  Changed Garland to Garlett as the player/staffer who signed up the most members last night.  Thanks dd36.

I wish you hadn't said that. Now someone will say that's why Garland shouldn't be in the Leadership Group or playing in defence or...

or ringing lapsed members as seems disinterested, lacks passion, won't run with the conversation or deliver the supporters cash efficiently to the club

Just phoned up to get my free reserved seat at the Norf game in Hobart that my interstate membership 'entitles' me too only to find out they are all gone. What a joke!!! Scummy Norf only give a small allocation and the girl said the ticket isn't guaranteed - what the hell does entitled mean? Have had plenty of time to book but the cutoff isn't until Monday - not happy about this at all, and I won't be giving Norf $$$ by buying a ticket. No wonder I hate them so much.

Certainly am - well an interstate member living in Tasmania.

I'm going down from Sydney. Really looking forward to seeing Hobart after a long time away.

This sucks. Club should have let people know tickets were going fast. I rang up a few weeks ago and booked and they were going fast then. As you know very few seats available with only 4 rows at the ground on the Hill. This year will be worth going to. Although I'm not expecting a win at this game.

commiserations clint. that's a bit poor especially as the game is still a fair way out

you should make a strong complaint to the ceo. i'll bet the game doesn't get sold out so norf could free up some more seats for mfc members

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
