Cool. Can we get this thread back to being about Trengove's progress rather than about why he's still on the list, then?

Sure but if someone asks a question or attacks my opinion (which is all it is) i will answer back as i expect you would to

Have you ever considered that Trengove wanted to go to Richmond?

Good article - gives Misson update on some rehab players and some insight on how we will approach the NAB games.  http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-02-05/well-attack-nab-challenge-misson

This bit from Misson is especially good: “Jack Trengove is coming towards the end of his rehab. He’s been doing a lot of work – and a lot of football work – in the last couple of weeks and he’s probably a week and a half away from joining in with the group. We feel like we’ve got his load pretty right. More importantly, he’s feeling really confident in that foot and he’s looking forward to joining in with the group – and the group’s looking forward to having him.”...Misson.

Great report from Misson.

Fair Comment mate

but if the Fitness Test hadn't failed Trenners would be wearing a Richmond Jumper right now.

We are investing time into him now only because we had to...

At this stage presumably only a training jumper

I'm intrigued that people are so concerned about Trengove looking slow during the latter stages of his rehab. Whilst I don't expect him to ever be the team speedster, I think we should wait and see what he's like when he's allowed to go full bore before conceding on this. And let's not forget that Sam Mitchell is considered a slow mover but he's still an elite because he has other attributes that compensate adequately for that.

exactly jack, & hodge as well is not quick by leg speed.  but they are quick of mind. they are natural footballers with footy IQ.

& Re the O'meara/Prestia boys, it never stops the hawks to recruit excellent mature players who are hurt knees etc. as long as they can get them up every week.  Burgoyne & Dew to name a couple,

If only the wishes re snagging a goal from outside 50 off his non-preferred would come true - unbridled joy on Demonland......

I am sure the soothsayers would say that was only because his preferred foot wasn't up to it, due to Mark Neeld

He's slower than Cliffy Young in size 15 gumboots it's sad but true .

Come on Trenners, stay focused and never give up!

no fear of that happening. The only thing that can fail for Trengove is his body - not his application.

I'm currently watching Tregove train with what looks to be the main group! Moving really well!

Twisting and pivoting then stabbing 20 metre passes!

Great news. If he can get the ball, he has a great footy brain and he will know what to do with it. If he can hit targets he will walk into our team.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
