How many is plenty?

Jones and Vince for the next few years.

Medium term could be: Trengove and Vanders.

Long term should be: Tyson, Viney, Brayshaw, and Petracca.

Long term could be: Salem, Kent, ANB, and Harmes.

We will need a midfield that bats deep to do any damage in finals and I would say about 10 players would have to run through the middle.

If I am wrong about Harmes, ANB, and Salem becoming mids we are down to 9. If Tyson, Kent, Trengove, and Petracca continue to struggle with injury then we are decidedly thin.

We are down on quality absolutely, but we are also down on quantity of AFL-level mids to fill out the rotation.

We are and another few kids this draft won't help that in the short term.

With the others you have mentioned I think we are as well placed as any team as we develop.

You're not, but I'm certain that the club has done its due diligence and won't draft him if they believe that the risk is too great.

I only used the quote as it wasn't complete hearsay but rather a fair indication of where he was playing. Was more emphasising the change of attitude and that he was brought in to play up forward and ruck which was where he trained most of last pre season. He was a defender at GWS but brought in to fill the key position gap left by Frawley rather than a spot in defence. He will play ahead of Pedo as the fwd/ruck in my opinion and Dawes will still be the true chf. Regardless he is a handy addition, I just think he will play second ruck forward and especially while there is a gap in the side there.

Secondly the media would have no idea what we are going to select, we don't leak anymore. Would not be surprised if it's a kpf at 7 but I think it's definitely a mid at 3.

I personally spoke to one of our Assistant Coaches at the start of the year, and he specifically said that Frost will end up being a full back.

The fact he played ruck/forward in the limited games this year was more due to our need for a quick fix in this area, as opposed to it being a long-term thing. It also helped that our key defenders, McDonald and Dunn, were performing quite well in the early part of the season (before Frost went down).

There would be a hope/expectation that King comes on and can play that forward/ruck role. If he does, which should be within the next 12-24 months, then Frost will be straight back to defence, especially with Dunn getting closer to the end.

A lot of clubs saw Curnow as a no brainer, but obviously the mail gets very strong at this time of year.

Hence the mainstream journo's phantom drafts are looking kind of harmonised.

I like how Paul Roos said they see him playing as a ruck/forward with the potential to play backline. I think that indicates that when he is able to get on the field he will be playing that 2nd ruck/third tall forward position

Your inane post is barely worthy of a response.

Clearly Frost can pinch hit as a second ruck and also play as a forward.  Just as clearly he's a dud forward and far more suited to a role in defence.  But you'd know this if you had any semblance of ability in analysing the game.

There's a reason the club picked up Weideman and Hulett.  We have a dearth of quality tall forwards.
