Jones - dynamic when needed

Dunn - unstoppable in defence

Hogan - constantly provided target

Watts - dynamic link man

Dawes - tried but clumsy

Viney - wonderful tagging game

Lumumba - dynamic and safe

Brayshaw - great second half

Tyson - lethargic and wasteful

Cross - outstanding tagging role

Garland - excellent defensive drive

Michie - just lacked nous

Vince - another wonderful game

McDonald - was rarely noticed

Neal-Bullen - failed to impose

Grimes - better second half

Garlett - just a cameo

Howe - finally 4 quarters

Jetta - displayed great endeavour

vandenBerg - tough and disciplined

Harmes - made an impression

Gawn - knows he belongs

Disagree on Dawes. I thought he was good today.

Tysons disposal early was horrible and so was hi awareness but I thought the second half he got much better.

Dunn was superb, thought Garlos was good too

Cross killed Sidebottom after halftime, he had 21 to half tim then Cross went on him and he was hardly seen after that.

Pretty good joeboy, although I think it's a little harsh on ANB. 15 touches and 6 tackles is not a bad effort from a first year player.

esp playing as a fwd flanker

Dawes had the second highest disposal efficiency (85.7%) only behind Brayshaw - he was actually decent today but needs to impact the scoreboard more

Not sure if it's because he's playing with an injury, but Dom Tyson seems like he has lost a bit since last year. Last year in tight he always looked classy and always had more time and managed to get out of traffic without being caught. This year he seems to find some space but gets pinged for holding the ball a lot more. Hopefully next season he can return to his 2014 form. A very important player and could be an elite midfielder if he keeps improving.

Really? I counted at least 5 times he got the Dukes to the ball and dropped it. Failed to kick that goal in last qtr to seal it. Fumbled it regularly today. I would say poor.

Harsh on Tyson. Was a bit wasteful but nine tackles, six clearances and 23 disposals indicates he did a decent job.

Good clearance work, but the stats don't show how slow he is with ball in hand.

Those who hate Toumpas loved to pipe up about every time Toumpas got caught with the ball - it's happening to Tyson far more regularly than it ever happened to Toumpas.

It's a frustrating trend in Tyson's game right now - he's coasting to contests a bit, and when he gets in them he's regularly too slow to dispose of it.

Still, as I said, I like his clearance work and we need to keep playing Vince, Viney, Tyson, Jones with Gawn to keep them learning.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
