Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

In - Grimes, Michie or other hardened mid like Newton or Riley

Out - JKH, ANB

I want a win. Grimes has had a good year apart from injury, and one more hardened body in as well for me.

Yes he did but he attacked the game all be it turned it over a lot. We're not playing finals and have an easy draw, I'd like to see him get a run of games. Others have had their chances. He manages to find himself in space with the ball. Needs to work on awareness and disposal. Has potential.

I agree. To me it looks like they're trying to curb his instincts a little and he's caught between what he wants to do versus what he's required to do.

The only way he'll get the balance is with more game time and it won't be through lack of trying. Whether that's in the seniors or Casey is the question. I think he has a bit to offer.

Interestingly I actaully think Dawes is doing quite well in his second ruck role, he worked hard today and did a lot of team acts. Although he got smashed in the hitouts Gawn did some good things around the ground, tells me he is growing as a player.

I reckon the younger players need a bit of a spell, ANB or Stretch probably one of the first on the block for me. If Toumpas put in a good performance for Casey he should come in.

I think we will need to add a little more attacking potential to our midfield, which to me says Newton in.

I'm also one of the few, it seems, who still think Grimes has something to offer.

Those two in for a couple of the lower performing or tired kids. Possibly and/or Toumpas in. Just to annoy the haters.

Going to be interesting to see where McDonald ends up next week, too.

Like for like for me. No point bringing Grimes back in in my mind unless he can rotate in the middle. If the kids need a spell, then first and foremost mids in Michie etc. to replace. Grimes for Garland or Lamumba alone if we're that keen for his inclusion.

Brayshaw has struggled the past two weeks. I'm wondering if he could use a week off to recharge the batteries? Not playing at Casey but just taking a break. He's so good it's easy to forget that he's a first-year player and isn't really at the level same level of fitness as the older players.

JKH struggled a bit and was subbed off. He might be in line for a break too.

We've got three guys who are basically in there to get the feel of the game in Stretch, Harmes and ANB. None of them are in the side because they are the best available. Any of them could be removed without any great loss of impact.

That gives us a heap of room to reward whoever is playing well at Casey. I'd love to see Hunt get a run in the FP, but he might struggle. That being said he's at least as ready physically as Stretch was when he got the nod. Riley has been playing well as well, and his aggression could be a good addition against a young Saints outfit. Jamar of course is dominating at VFL level and could get recalled any time. I don't see Salem or Kent getting in after long lay-offs. They will need to work themselves back up at Casey.

We also have to factor in the fact that we won. You generally don't make drastic changes to a winning side. Should be interesting.

I still question Michie's ability at AFL level. He's really good at stoppages in the VFL but I haven't seen him transition smoothly into the middle for us, his lack of versatility makes it hard for us to play him.

The thing I like about Michie is that he seems to be solid in every aspect of the game. He doesn't have anything spectacular about him, but he's calm and capable most of the time. He very rarely makes the sort of rage-inducing mistakes we see from MacDonald, Grimes or Toumpas.

Brayshaw copped a whack last week and was quiet today. I agree with those who think he is ready for a spell.

JKH struggled and is not as fast as he thinks he is. He is likely to miss but if Roos did not change a losing team last week two changes would be about the limit this week.

Ins; Newton for forward impact and Grimes for a hard(er) body.

Time to have a good look at Fitzy, Mitchie, Riley, the Toump and Grimes over the next 4 weeks or so. We need to make some tough decisions end of year. So let's rotate some people through.

Grimes has been playing as a tagger at Casey hasn't he?

Might be a chance to run through the midfield in that mode, as opposed to sweeping off half-back.

Tagging seems to be one thing we have under control. Viney underrated with the scalps he's taken this year. Gone the days of McKenzie.

I reckon we've seen enough of them - next 4 weeks may see the end of some careers.

I thought Chris Dawes would have pleased the Coaching fraternity today! Did a lot of "Grunt Work" opened up play and had some crucial possessions! Also took a couple of marks! A very good game for a somewhat "Maligned " player on this forum!

Think you will find many of us see a future in the red and blue.

We just go around posting ten times a week on how he is finished, like some 'supporters' who do good impersonations of a scratched record

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
