One 4 goal game in a coupl of years doesn't warrant a contract. He needs to do it consistently first

That said JKH may be getting worried

And there goes the siren for another Scorpions win.

2015 Peter Jackson VFL

Casey Scorpions 3.4.22 7.7.49 11.13.69 15.15.105

Northern Blues 1.2.8 4.3.27 5.3.33 9.4.58

Thanks for the updates all day KC. Shame you don't have a PhD to satisfy some supporters but we can't have everything...

Hunt kicking 4 will be the story of this game, and it holds far more weight than the day King kicked 5. Hunt has had a very good 3 weeks and, while he may not get a great deal of the pill, he can clearly hurt teams on the rebound with his pace and instinct for a goal, something that is a big positive in the modern game. I don't think he'll play senior footy this year but he is certainly giving himself every opportunity of having another season or two on the list to prove himself further.

Agree with all that Wise. Being an 'interstater' I've never seen him play, but from the snippets I've heard since he was drafted, he's a tantalizing prospect. Quick, good hands and a lovely kick, but doesn't seem to get a whole lot of the ball .... that's about all I've heard. Can anyone closer to the action fill in some gaps? Is he still very slightly built? Does he read the play well, and get to the right spots? What is his pressure like? Have most of his recent goals been as a crumber or long shots?

Skinny. Came through school footy with Salem & Kelly, but didn't grow, so fell behind. Became a small forward type, but then had a fair growth spurt in his draft year. Probably measures in close to 190 now. Maybe his growth spurt may have had something to do with his back issues.

Still needs to put on size, but his pace and skill is exciting. Pretty good by foot too.

Agree, although you can understand the impatience after almost a decade of no finals.

Exciting to see him backing up after a few good games. Hopefully he can continue to do this for Casey for the majority of the second half of the season.

The good thing is we are getting more depth and finding more players, allowing us to get rid of the ones who are not up to it.

Junk time now as Casey coasting as the Russian marks and goals. Lead over 50 points.

Thanks KC, stirling job as always.

Much appreciated.

Ta KC. Song, I don't think we recruited him as a genuine back but I'll stand corrected. There was always the thought that he could build a tank and size and roll through the middle.

He kicked 3 in his last game and 2 the one before that. Given he has barely played in two years due to injuries, he's coming good at the right time and showing consistent form in the past month. I'd have no hesitation giving him another year, surely we have enough OOC spuds that we can cut before him.

JKH is contracted for another 2-3 years from memory. He won't be worried.

How come no one has posted best players and goal kickers etc?

The Scorpions haven't issued any official stats from the game yet.

The game was played today at Princes Park and contrary to what people might think there is no direct access to visiting officials at the ground, particularly when they're busy trying to win a game of football. Most live on the other side of town and it takes an hour to get back there so patience is the order of the day.

I will endeavour to post the details when they are made available.

CASEY SCORPIONS 15.15 (105) d NORTHERN BLUES 9.4 (58)

Win/loss: Casey 8-4 / Northern 4-9

Telling facts: The Scorpions thrust themselves into serious top-four contention by recording their eighth win of the season against the Blues at Ikon Park. A dogged Northern wouldn’t go away throughout the first half, but two Casey goals in the shadows of half time opened up a decisive 22-point advantage which the Blues wouldn’t recover from.

Leading goalkickers: Hunt 4, Jamar 3 (Casey) / Jaksch 2, Johnson 2, Jones 2 (Northern)

From the VFL website.

Can't seem to find much else but well done to Hunt and Jamar. With our lack of forward line options Jamar would have to be in contention and as crazy as it sounds Hunt has come from nowhere to probably not be that far off. Speed is a rare commodity.

They have punished goals and best - see my earlier post with final scores.

And we are the worst club at punishing goals.

Oh come on mate, he's not the coach and he doesn't have access to the coaching staff, how dare you ask him!......

KC puts in a fantastic effort, providing updates and regular information on this site. He regularly answers specific questions from other posters.

His efforts are appreciated by all Demonlanders except for you apparently.

KC, once again, thanks for the updates.

How was Toumpas

I spoke to him today mate.

He said he was doing alright. Has been playing plenty of Witcher 3 during the week and said he is enjoying it, although the gratuitous sex in the game is a bit much for him. Said he had a roast dinner on Thursday night that was sensational but was disappointed with the new Terminator movie. All in all though he said he's had a pretty good week. He's trying to get Roos on board the Witcher 3 train as well but all Roosy does is take Geralt off in to the forest to 'meditate' all the time. He doesn't get anything done.

If you want answers then go yourself.

You'll find that KC doesn't normally answer questions during a game as he is too busy turning up and giving scores throughout the game. If you want answers then generally others who go may give it or KC will give you a round up once he's home... from actually turning up to the game.

Give it a rest stuie.

Ok. I went down to the ground today with two young sons in tow so couldn't be totally focused on the footy unfortunately. We got there after quarter time and Casey already had a handy lead. . I was most interested in King and Hunt, as most of the others on show I had seen previously. I was generally impressed with their endeavour mostly. Hunt still appears slight but was very mobile when in the play. There was one occasion when he was confronted by two defenders, he wrong footed one and then just sped away from the other. He worked very hard from what I saw. Possibly still a bit too light to play In the seniors yet...but later in the season who knows. King competed all day for mine. He appears heavier than earlier in the season and really put himself about. Both of these players look like they deserve more time on the list. King looks like he could be very valuable as a tall forward in the future. He moves well and is quite athletic for his size imho. I was a little disappointed in Toumpas. I can't fault his effort but he was still doing those dinky little kicks to teammates which put them under pressure. He was running very sorely in the third...he has an unusual looking run at times and without knowing the real cause etc his hips still seem to affect his movement. Most of the other senior players did the usual. Jamar played well and the others flashed in and out of play. It was good team effort overall.

Thanks ...potter. Interesting report. Now please make sure you stay online so Stu can ask any questions that occur to him over the next decade or so.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
