Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Had to sub someone. Liked the Toump today but thought all of ANB, Stretch and MJones were better. Bail the only other candidate really.

No injuries reported that I'm aware of.

Funny how you dont get injuries after a win huh??

Hogan (and Garland?) available next round too. Feels like forever since our injury list has actually shrunk between matches. If both are available there are going to be two terribly stiff players playing for Casey that round.

Over the last few weeks we have seen strides made by Toumpas, Watts, Gawn, Spencer, Viney & Vince as well as others I'm sure I've forgot to mention. They are all at different stages of their career & perhaps some in particular were circling the toilet bowl of their MFC careers just 3 months ago. Today's win amongst the last month of footy has shown genuine signs of development for not just these players but the whole group & perhaps as a club we have turned a corner today. It's fitting that our worst loss of the modern era against Geelong has now been somewhat erased by our best win in the same era. The win gives genuine belief in our progress as well as coaching & development structure. The likes of Roos & McCartney appear to be having a big influence on our younger players & they genuinely look to believe they belong at the highest level. Hopefully we can keep taking one step at a time to become the club we want to be.

Played with 2 ruckmen today and yes they had thier best games for the club.

Bernie played a blinder.

Dunny BOG,by a mile.

Brayshaw is a gun and today earnt him another 50 games.tuff an hard at it.

Best win weve seen for awhile and definitely the best win at cat park.

Also was surprised at how many Dee fans actually showed up.

The bloke wearing No12 did okay.

Nicely said. There's definitely something going on down there that is different, and real this time.

Do we change the team for WCE

Who can we look forward to coming back?Newton?

Fitzpatrick?

Garland?

Vandenburg?

Frost 4 weeks (Brisbane?)

Salem 4 weeks (Brisbane?)

Hunt 4 weeks

Kent 6 weeks

Grimes 8 weeks

Pedersen season

Petracca season

Trengove season

?

Would like Frost, Salem and Kent to hurry up!

Did you forget Jesse Whathisname?

Vince's career at Melb has already overtaken Sylvia's.

Did long ago

He was good - backed up last weeks effort.

He now seems to go into contests hard and is backing his pace and foot skills (think he has finally turned a corner)

Next step is to be able to float forward and kick goals caus we cant rely on hogan and Garrlett all the time.

There was that one moment where he marked 10m in front and went to play on - almost stuffed it up - should know better then that. (you dont see hawthorn and sydney stuff those up)

Like today?? :-))

May be unpopular but i don't know if we would have won that if jesse played, we bomb to him way to often, his absence made us lower our eyes

Interesting thought process. Wasn't at the game and couldn't get TV - was the forward process vastly different this week??

Haven't read the whole thread but Jeffy deserves another mention. 4 goals in a performance we're almost coming to expect from him. Love your work Jeffy.

Mick Malthouse says hi Jeff.

If that ones true the media will let it slip like selwood tackle. Everyone loves Selwood...

Not sure I believe that, Selwood has mentioned in the past he respects Jonesy and they played Under 18s together for Vic - same draft class.

I won't forgive that from Selwood if that is true. Bag the club, most of the players, anyone, but don't say that about Jonesy you [censored].

Sorry but what is this all about? Is it that tweet - totally illegible on my iPad.

Well, that was almost a surreal experience down at Geelong.

We just came to play and kept playing. Barely recognised the team in front of me, well both the teams actually.

Complete dominance in the middle. Watts was great, Vince and Jones were magnificent again. Viney made Selwood look like a C-grader.

A sensational win when I least expected it. All the Dees fans just suddenly found a voice towards the end too, it was a fantastic atmosphere even though it was about 3 degrees

Absolutely stunned by the win today. I had to work and turned the AFL app on during the 3rd quarter. What I saw was the boys showing a heap of fight that didn't let up. Our old heads like Dunn, Jones, Vince, Lumumba etc were finally all standing up together. The youngsters like Viney, Brayshaw, Stretch were all giving it their all. Seeing Brayshaw smashing into anything wearing navy and white that moved was a deelight. Seeing Viney just work Selwood over and win clearances was a deelight. Seeing Bernie racking up ball and set up/score goals was a deelight.

I never thought we had a hope of winning down there today. Years of conditioning will do that to you. I'm so happy and proud of the win. This is definitely one the team can reflect on and build into something great.

GO YOU MIGHT DEES!!!

I have said it before and I will repeat, I think Brendan McCartney has a lot to do with our progress. I know he has put a lot of time into Gawn and Watts as well as our first year players. Now reaping the benefits

Could work out well for McCartney if CAS end up having a quiet word with Mr Goodwin.

Allegedly sledged Jones and called him the worst captain in the AFL. Being irrational, territorial football supporters, many of us have blown up.

Add in the complete career turnarounds last season by the previously much (and rightly) maligned Nev Jetta and Lynden Dunn.

Sure the individuals have to do the hard yards, but a coaching panel with great people skills seem to have engendered self belief in those listed who must seriously have doubted their abilities. They are all playing with self belief.

Well done club as a whole.

lol just saw the highlights of the start of the game with Foss ringing the bell and the big deal they were making about Enright etc. Kind of reminds me of Rocky 4 when Apollo Creed came out to the big fight against Drago then subsequently died lol - The Dees are Drago! :)

He's done really well considering the amount of pressure our backline has been under.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
