Season is basically done. We are going into the 4 hardest weeks of the season without arguably our best player. Good times.

Saw this pic on club website of Ollie taunting his off-field best mate.  If I can put words in Jack's mouth he would be saying:  'yep, you'll keep mate!

Disagree. Looks like Ollie is trying to help him by pushing him away.

Well doesn't that [censored] throw spanner through the works.

Really [censored] off now. I swear our young talent can never take a trick at this club.

Take a trick... He belted a guy three times... Absolute idiotic action and now with worse consequences. I hope the coaches and senior players give him a spray. What a fIog he is.

He wasn't injured punching Ebert, you muppet. Was injured in the first qtr.

Getting suspended was stupid but maybe get all the facts before teeing off

Arrghhh we have hawthorn, collingwood sydney then the bye then the crows. Christ now we dont have our hard nut midfielder who has been great. Im shattered and we are stuffed. It will fall back on Jones again.

Showed him getting it looked at straight after the hits.

I may have put two and two together and got 40, but I'm [censored] at the suspension as it.

The last player we could afford to lose, sadly. Not only is he our midfield grunt now, but he sets the culture for competitiveness. That and the fact that oppo teams now know how to expose our defensive shambles means it's going to get very very ugly this Saturday, and not much better for the next 4 weeks. All of a sudden getting to last year's seven wins is looking like a good result for the year I reckon.

Seems a bit strange calling our best player and leader a [censored]. He got rubbed out by a bit of stupidity which doesn't even matter anymore.

Geez we are going to struggle without him. He, Gawn, Hogan and Jetta are not replaceable in our team. I'm wishfully hoping VDB is fit enough to take some of his midfield minutes in the next month though.

Indeed!! now he has popped a knuckle that requires surgery!!

Barrassi made Crackers Keenan wear an orange jumper at training and had him running laps in the opposite direction to training drills! when rubbed out in crucial finals game

I would do exactly that

Bad timing, Bad Temper, shocking reactions to tagging

Hang him out to dry!!

Needs to wise up quickly , Lest the word will go around stir him up and you WILL get a reaction!!

3-4 week for a Popped Knuckle

FMD

I reckon Todd would be "Livid"

jack doesn't believe in doing things in half measures

a dirty game, a suspension and a trip to surgery......all in one game

Its still better then years gone by with the bruise free footy tag!.  The punches were silly, who hasn't done something without thinking at 20-21.

Nah mate, I remember it happening.  Viney was already walking off.  It was byplay between two friends.  There was no "helping" about it.

That's less of a blow that Viney.

He picked a shocking time to break his hand throwing a punch.

He broke it in the first quarter, he punch Ebert in the 3rd.

I would bring in VB, Trenners and Ollie just to name a few.

Doesn't matter. His loss is a disaster for the team at this point with the hard teams salivating at the thought of playing us over the next few weeks.

Did Viney make Greg Baum cry at some point? He has written another article about him.

He wrote this article when Viney got off after the Lynch incident last year.

I think that latest one doesn't really say anything that isn't true. In fact, it's fairly well balanced. Viney should consider himself lucky he only got one week.

They also said on 7 that Garland may miss 2 or 3 with his cheekbone.

And of course the MRP had a good look at that too ?

Baum's version of Viney's altercation with Ebert is the equivalent of a Shaun Tait wide! As soon as Viney turned and pushed out at Ebert, the latter threw an elbow to Viney's chest, Viney's first two slaps were a warning but Ebert showed signs of wanting to go on with it. He was advancing and Viney threw the third, more emphatic blow which finished things.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
