Cameron Bruce and Jack Watts

Recommended Posts

Both were the scapegoats on this forum. Bruce for his disposal despite his gut running and high possession count and Watts for his lack of gut running despite his sublime skills.

How would a combination of the two go? Imagine if Jack could start winning the ball like Bruce did. He would be an absolute gun. Here's hoping!

I hope you are right Bobby, but i can never see it happening. That aside, I dont think Watts will get anywhere near the player Cameron Bruce was.

both pretty well outside players, bobby

cam was better at 1:1 contested possession

a conbo would certainly be a good improvement and create a top outside player

Answer my question Clint. What do you think?

Yes, he probably would be a good player because Cameron Bruce had a putrid kicking technique and Watts is soft as butter.

Sadly, getting any player who can get his own ball and use it well is not as easy as we would like. We seem to either get James Strauss or Jordie McKenzie.

I don't give a stuff about his skills - I loved Cameron Bruce. Sensational player in his prime.

His skills were not as bad as some made out Wise, Cameron was a far better player than some give him credit for, who could forget the day he kicked 7 against Carlton.

Not sure I understand the point of this thread.

You're saying that two scapegoated players' weaknesses are the inverse of each other and if we could somehow combine them then we'd have a great player?

Have you built some kind of skill merging device that makes this possible?

Can't wait to see your Frankenfyfe.

Don't you mean Jack Bruce. I would've used Cam Watts but .....nah

Insert joke about cream of the crop or a player who danced to the beat of his own drum

Bobby I would much prefer if you did a Lazarus. Tough, dash, take no prisoners, and can kick goals. You might be a bit light on so you will need plenty of gym work to strengthen your bones and restore your muscles.

He would have to be the Cream of the crop... coming from a low bass. having said that, a combination of Jack Watts and Cameron Bruce would be a Strange Brew indeed.

Edit: Curses... I just noticed binman's post... still, great minds...

I like the idea of combining Cale Morton, Paul Johnson and Addam Maric - you would have had a tall, short, fat, skinny bloke who couldn't get near the ball

Bruce was a solid player in a good team. He buckled and turned to mash when we played poorly. Really, he was just another one of our "good but not great" players that are severely overrated by some on this forum.

shut this thread

What is that avatar you are wearing SoNS? It reminds me of a photoshopped image I have somewhere of Lee Harvey Oswald just as he was shot... they photoshopped a microphone into his hand and various musical instruments amongst the security surrounding him...

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
