Dees v Dockers - Round 5

Recommended Posts

could be a 4th forced change, Not buying that Viv was out of gas late in the game, the bloke with his shirt of could have lapped him.

Give me Grimes McKenzie Riley, not much in the cupboard after that maybe Pedo ( could upset the balance ).

We would win a lot more without Watts. He is a passenger. We play one man down with his output.

FD, you are a genius, you obviously know more than Roos and the entire footy department. Why are we wasting our money on them? We should put you in charge. hahahahahhahahha. You crack me up.

Toumpas was ok, as you didn't see him against Footscray you are going on people's opinions and the general consensus was ok not immediate recall

Minson needed a wake up call and he certainly performed for Footscray as did Goodes who is also trying to force his way back in

Spencer has been in the best six now for about 4 weeks including the practice games, so following your theory he should get a call up

Wrong, you promote a player that gives you the best opportunity to win. I don't care if Spencer is in Casey's best players 20 weeks in a row, he doesn't come in unless Jamar is injured. And you're missing the point on Minson. The Dogs smashed the Crows despite getting killed in the hitouts. An additional mid offers more than anything that Spencer brings at AFL level.

WE'RE A CHANCE, DAMMIT! :P

Remember the game at the G against Freo all those years ago when we were 52pts or something down at halftime and came back......can dream cant we...

I'm going to training on Friday, if you are not there I will make sure I pass on your instructions to Roosy and Justin Plapp (who disagrees with your assessment of Riley and Spencer by the way, so he must be wrong)

And following your logic, even though I think Toump will eventually be a player, at the moment he is not the player who gives us an opportunity to win, Plapp agrees with me again, so he is wrong again

For [censored] sake, why don't you just go and sit in a corner somewhere and thaw out. Your broken record approach has become beyond boring and is no more justified than when you first stated Watts should be demoted.

Show me an extract from Plapp which says that Riley will be able to impact at AFL level, and Spencer will play alongside Jamar. Here's a quote from Plapp about Spencer after the Dogs game:

"Spence has had a really strong month at VFL level and he’s just now waiting for an opportunity to present itself at AFL level."

As we've seen over the past 8 years, just because someone is getting a game at Melbourne doesn't mean that they can impact an AFL game.

As a poster has previously said, with a mounting injury list over ther past couple of weeks and with a couple of sore bodies in Tyson and Michie who may also pull out, the blokes who come in will change the side significantly. Not for the better.

Freo have a full strength side and with Walters and Ballantyne playing, the loss of Jetta is huge. As is Kent for our forward pressuring ability and speed.

It might get ugly this one.

Don't really care about the ins at this stage. More concerned about how long the 'outs' will be out for.

Dockers lost to the Saints by 10 goals at Etihad in R18 last year

We have been playing excellent footy in parts

We have injuries but our top 10-15 will all be out there

We love the G and having the crowd on our side ala R1

Absolutely in the contest

Pretty sure thats when the Freo side was firmly in the top 4 and also brought over Peel Thunder dressed as Dockers.

Not exactly the same comparison to the same side we'll be playing this weekend.

I know we are still beaming from Friday night, but i thought i'd get down to business early.

Big test to see how our new look team goes against the current in form/best team in the competition.

We have a few outs, and i think they are virtually full strength, so it will be a big, big challenge!

Vince to tag Fyfe.

Dont know if Bernie will go with Fyffe,

But the challenge will suit us,freo are not playing from the "back" as much as past seasons and this could help us get over their midfield,as PR is still teaching our blokes to play from deep back and take away midfeild strength of opposition..

Looking forward to see if we can stay 4 quarters with this attack and take the scoring only to our limit and not theirs.

This game has a sense of damage limitation about it, as long as we don't disgrace ourselves and our "ins" play their role I'll be happy. I want no more glimpses of our crappy past. We must keep the holly one happy.

yeah well the MFC of Round 5, 2015 is not exactly the same comparison as wooden spoon Saints of 2014

edit

here is the ladder going into that game. with 5 rounds to go Freo are a game off having a home qualifying final, how can you imply they had nothing to play for, that is garbage

SY 17 52 138.8

HW 17 52 138.0

GE 17 52 112.1

FR 17 48 133.2

I love your optimism, but Freo are grand final bound

No chance they are dropping this match

I want to see a good close contest and will be happy with that.

Actually think we are a better chance against Sydney next weekend, not least because I'm gonna be in New York for work, and history suggests that we'll probably win by 10 goals just to upset me more for missing the match.

Also Freos played Port, Cats at Skilled and Sydney, we've played Gold Coast, GWS, Crows and Tigers, a bit of discrepancy in opponents.

So they've been nicely softened up for us! Bring it on. I'm planning to buy myself a nice bottle of single malt holy water on Saturday in preparation for the celebrations on Sunday.

Top 10 for disposals. Top 10 for effective disposal. 3rd for marks. 12th for one per-centers. No 1 for goal assists. There are a lot of others behind JW, it would seem.

I'd love to see vandenBerg go up against Fyfe but I imagine that Vince will get the gig.

So would I.

I reckon he has the 'animal' and brute strength to go with him.

Definitely not the running ability at this stage.

What an acquisition he is though.

I reckon the Roos' will use the same run-with players as he has with Dangerfield and Cotchin. Vince goes with Fyfe when he's playing on-ball and Garland takes him when he pushes forward.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
