Patrick looked like he act "better" than Rodney Dangerfield.

Loved Bernie's comments in the post-match interview. Said he was just having a bit of fun, that's what footy's all about. Said he didn't care about going from a crowd favourite in Adelaide to being constantly booed. Said he's 100% a Melbourne player now, and will do whatever it takes to get a win for the team.

But, at the end of it said the Adelaide players are still his mates, and he was getting together with them last night. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall at that get together.

Seems a great guy. Very glad we have him.

Bernie's tag on Dangerfield was fantastic yesterday. His example in committing to his role would have rubbed off on Brayshaw (who looks a competitive beast already!) Salem, Vanders, Newton, etc.

This reminds me of last years grand final when a number of Hawks players lined up Buddy in the opening stages of the game and dropped him hard a few times. And at one stage Hodge went up and kissed on the cheek...a bit of fun! All still mates after the game.

Then the 3qtr time melee yesterday reminded me of that 'line-in-the-sand' game between Hawks and Ess (about 2006) where the Hawks players created havoc after half time. That was the turning point for their style of play and now have 3 flags.

A long time since we have had a gutsy, rough up the opp. team. Great step towards earning back on-field respect and no-one will call us 'bruise-free' again. Don't care that we lost. Respect is worth a lot more than one win.

We will win many more on the back of yesterday's performance in the years to come. Our tough guys noticeably stood up yesterday: Vince, Jones, Kent Jamar. Jamar getting old but the add Viney and there is a core group of 'come and get me' players.

Final observation: Dangers reputation went down a few notches yesterday...basically couldn't take the heat!

Edit: one more observation...I don't get why crows supporters and Walsh are all sooking...Tex sure looked like he lined up Tommy Mc leaving him crouched on all fours and looking like he may need to be subbed out.

I think Danger can expect more of the same. Once the other clubs know you can be physically intimidated they will bring it on.

Heard some funny reactions to this. The Adelaide coach and fans looking pretty stupid in my opinion.

Playing the man? Not tough? Coming from the team that had less contested possession? Spare me.

I loved the fact that other demons players were in there supporting and defending vince at 3 quarter time. a much better spirit.

I also liked the fact that Brayshaw didnt join in because he was probably thinking Im not paying a fine, but he went in there and pulled his captain away to get him out of there im thinking maybe to protecte him.

But it was great to see at 3/4 time the players get in there sticking up for vince.

How about...

Adelaide football club a team that thinks they are a premiership contender were pushed and out muscled on their own turf by a team with 10 players of 40 games or less playing, if not for some Melbourne skill errors the crows might well have lost

Curry and Beer is welcome to apologise to Vince, like he had to with Brayshaw, after he labelled Vince's pre-match interview 'pathetic' after he spoke about his time with Adelaide.

I think Bernie has made it pretty clear where his allegiances lie now. There can be no mistake that he is a Demon through and through.

I loved the hard tackling and that Bernie got in Dangerfield's face and really ruffled him. What a complete sooky la-la Dangerfield is. The Adelaide coach lacks quite a bit of finesse in the public speaking arena - needs a few lessons from the super composed Paul Roos. I was proud of our boys yesterday. They were tough conditions

with a feral crowd, pathetic crowd influenced umpiring and some missed opportunities. I am looking forward to Friday night.

Bernie is officially my favourite player.

I loved Vince's job on Dangerfield.

I don't see the issue with what Walsh said though. I prob agree with him to an extent - years ago a lot of players would have whacked Vince for his tagging actions. It's just a different game now and Walsh acknowledges that.

Vinces demolition of Dangerfield was the highlight of my day. Also thrilled with the response of Walsh - it's a long time since we needled the opposition like that.

Demons should reply to Walsh's press conference. Vince played hard footy. Dangerfield played for frees and didn't like the hard tag.

Dead right,everytime ive mentioned this type of footy on here,ive copped the "dirty country hick rules are no good here"from the dee faithful on this site.

But there is still room for tough hard footy,The major problem is after 3/4 time when the money was on the table,the same plebs came up short and didnt fire a shot as usual.

And the same plebs on here will still give JW time because he shows potential to offload the pill properly.

Well im afraid most afl players in space can generally offlaod the pill,but what counts is gettin it,usin it and puttn ya body on the line.3 things that must give the squad the absolute chits about JW.

What's wrong with the Adelaide fans. Don't they know that Danger is going at the end of the year and Bernie was getting in early giving it to him for the fans.

360 on Monday will be interesting, I suspect Roos will play a straight bat but it would be good to see him stick up for one of his chargers. Bernie did a job, and he did it well.
