The thread anticipating a thread that Jack Grimes has been named an emergency

Of course, it's easy enough to edit the title, but I couldn't help myself.

I'm not sure that there's any point to this thread anyway. Unless there's some scintillating contribution in the next half hour I think it should go.

He's just been an average player in a bad, bad team.

Unsurprising.

It is sad, but his game has never evolved

Not enough body mass. Gets bumped off way to easily

Boom or Bust this year

Its already a bust WYL. Dropped for first game is massive. Even if Salem has a disappointing game on the weekend we need to show him the same faith we've showed Grimes and co over the years.

Could well be right Al

A running half back who continually kicks clangers is a liability

Tough decisions

I have admit being pleased at the decision to drop him. Shows we're evolving and making players accountable - and most importantly that includes our leadership group.

Been a very long time since that has happened at our club.

I like to think that Grimes will remain on the last for a few years as a good honest player with great leadership skills, who set a fantastic example for the young kids (a bit like cross) who is in and out of the team depending on form or injury.

A professional, he is a step up from the traditional NQRs like Terlich and Jones, but might not be good enough to hold down a spot taken by Lamumba and some kids.

The other option is we trade him to a tan that wants him to start as they lack a defensive half back flank although that seems unlikely.

I don't think he'll be delisted.

Why is he even on the Demonland banner? Jetta should be there. At a crossroad and evolved dramatically.

I am not a fan praha but easy up a bit we have not played a game in 2015 yet.

After Saturday who knows he might be straight back in.

Very disappointed as I think he has been quite good with his disposal and attack on the ball this preseason. I think his form is better than Toumpas' form. Nevertheless, I trust our coaches and it may be a bit of a spur for him this year.

That is damming him with faint praise

They clearly signalled this was on the cards when they took the captaincy off him, so they could drop him more freely. He was shaping up to be a great player before that very first foot injury and he's now simply been passed by younger, better players.

No he's been worse than that. He's been a turnover king. He can't make quick enough decisions about disposal when in possession of the ball and his kicking is atrocious. How can he be a leader when he can't play football?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
