We all await with baited breath...well, some of us more-so than others, wink wink.

Look guys, the reason for my appearance here is that certain information being posted in this thread is patently false. Now whether that is intentional or not, I have no idea but these posts have become the source of amusement on other forums, which led me to your fine site. So I will leave you all to it with a suggestion that once WADA pass on any appeal at some point during the next week, then move on as threads like this do a disservice to otherwise good forums.

Would they be EFC forums by any chance? If so then they certainly don't have any leg to stand on in that regard!

Has been great having you here Hirdy (or appointed staff member), see you next Tuesday!

At no stage has SP mounted any arguments which rationally argue the falsity of our posts. His first post was a direct attack on my summary of the current situation so I can only assume the "amusement" caused by our posts refers to mine.

I challenge him to pick apart what I wrote and prove that I am wrong. I look forward to a reasoned and rational rebuttal, not the personal abuse and bluster we have seen so far.

By the way funny how the term "move on" creeps into the narrative, since it has been the principle mantra of the Hird campaign since the AFL Tribunal decision.

Me Thinks SP may have inadvertently revealed himself...

No wonder my wife keeps on complaining about the fishy smell.

The only thing they questioned, which I did as well, was your statement about the burden of proof being lower at CAS. This isn't technically true, both the AFL tribunal and CAS will be heard with comfortable satisfaction being the burden of proof. this is a sliding scale though, and various lawyers have said that they think CAS will hear the case with a lower version of comfortable satisfaction.

I put this to SP and just like most EFC fans just dismissed it as it didn't suit their agenda.

Well Sanitypad, you are a perfect example of how out of touch with the real world PR hacks are, only Armstrong and Hird would would pay for this sort of stuff . . out of desperation!!

Who cares what the tribunal said! Essendon now emits a foul stench that will hang in the air for as long as Aussie rules is played . . what a fine legacy!!

Chrs MATE!!

Could you please elaborate on which information you allege is being posted in this thread which is patently false?

I read this today and sanitypads came to mind.

And alot like the Essendons football clubs defense during the whole saga, mindless arm waving totally void of any facts or significant arguments to back up their position.

This thread is as good as some of the nonsense posted on bf's htb thread - An independent tribunal of highly qualified professionals found ASADA's case hopelessly constructed & didnt come close to proving their burden (& lets not forget the issue of 'manufactured evidence', I mean seriously what did these clowns at ASADA think they were doing??), but it is Essendon people that are being accused of having their heads in the sand?? That's laughable as I suspect deep down most of you here full well know.

Anyhoo, have fun hanging on for WADA to appeal & those blood tests to suddenly all come back positive (all 2 of them). Really life's too short.

The EFC apparently can't remember or lost records of a drug the majority of its list was injected with. sounds legit

Like most, I find this matter an absolute bore now. However, I find it quite amusing the calls for "let's move on" ...

Whatever the case might be with WADA, the facts remain that the EFC were found guilty of poor governance, failed to keep critical records for off-site injecting regimes that were frankly a disgrace, in doing so cannot confirm what was injected under their regime, under their watch. And most of all, failed due diligence in caring for their own players. And the EFC as a result of this guilty finding were punished.

It's own independant report was damning enough, let alone the 2 years 3 months of blight and stench on this great games history. A black phase indeed that will never be forgot. How embarrassing.

This is well known internationally, and has embarrassed not only the code, but our country.

Anyone trying to hose down this disgrace, referring to the players getting off due to a failure by ASADA to secure and confirm key witnesses standing by their original statements at a "AFL tribunal hearing" are a disgrace to them self.

The old saying goes, where there is smoke, there is fire.

Well, quite frankly that all allegedly went up in smoke when the shredders overheated and caught fire.

Has Eddie taken the EFC model to its next conclusion.

I saw him asked about the fate of the 2 Collingwood players charged

His reply "I know nothing"

presumably there are no records of what they did and are doing to ensure there are no links to their activities and the club.

Its a new management style introduced by EFC

The Good The Bad and The Hirdy!!

Todd Viney on "The Couch" last nite reminded me of good times at the D's. Times nearly as good as those when legends like Peter Marquis and Athol Webb were vying to get their number on the back of my Melbourne jumper! But I'm afraid the last few years and the doping disgrace sapped my enthusiasm for footy to the extent that only Hogan can now bring on a faint smile. It's sad to admit that the only thing binding me to Footy now is the hate and loathing for Hird and his band of outlaws, I sense my interest in footy will cease completely once the cheats get their comeuppance and I get to see them . . all of em . . dangle on the end of a rope!l

Well that remains to be seen.

I will say one thing - if wada do appeal you and dee2014 will have every justification to crow about it. I hope you both get the chance

So what are the chances that WADA appeal?

Does anyone know whether WADA has a history of pulling the trigger at the last moment or "going early"? (when they do appeal in these matters)

I reckon we'll find out by the weekend - maybe Friday.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
