Big fan of this kid I thought he finished off the year really well. Hoping he carries that form into pre season and has a big 2015 because I can see him being a permanent 22 every week.

Has a beautiful kick on him and love his toughness and willingness to take the game on. Has a good mix of playing inside and out.

Id love to see Viv continue to develop into a fine midfielder for us. Thought he game against Hawthorn and GWS were very promising as a midfielder.

Agreed. Seems to have good disposal and decision making. Only played a handful of games. A lot of promise.

First game last year his laziness in pushing back was terrible.

Giving him a pass due to injury in that game.

Jury is still out on whether he is capable of running both ways.

I think he and Bail will be fighting out for the same spot.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Bail train with the midfield group this preseason.

Not sure about bail's ability to get the ball enough as a mid. Still see his best role gut running between the arcs, pushing up the ground defensively and running hard forward once we win the ball back.

Thought his finishing improved in 2014. Would love him to become a 20-30 goal a year player.

If Newton comes in and we draft Brayshaw then the competition for mid spots will be fierce. Michie, Riley, Jones M and others will be up for one or two spots.

It will be interesting to see who rises to the top especially if Salem, Kennedy Harris and Toumpas start competing.

Agree. If those guys who are currently 15th-25th best players and who have only had a couple of preseasons can step up then we can improve quickly.

Michie, Riley, Toumpas, Barry, Frost, Salem, Kent, JKH and (hopefully) Ben Newton are all talented footballers with significant scope for improvement. Dyson and Viney are also young players with only a couple of preseasons behind them. Then there is Hogan

Whilst trying not to sound too clichéd, this will be the mother of all preseasons for this group. IMost of our teams improvement in 2015 will come from these players

Big challenge will be for Viv to play 15+ games at AFL this year.
I'm not expecting anything massive, but I'll consider it a successful year of he plays consistent footy and cements his spot in the side.

The positive is he is a bit of a jack of all trades:

- Strong body

- Decent height

- Can take a mark

- Wins it in close

- Can run and link up

- Can use it nicely (especially if not under much pressure)

The negatives are he's a master of none. Versatility is great but you have to do things well enough to be steady in the side.

He got a long period out of the side season. I hope next year they give him a really strong run at it.

I'm still glad we have him. But I hope he's fitter and faster this preseason because from there he'll be more successful at being a nice versatile midfielder who can play anywhere through the midfield, half back or half forward. He wasn't all that productive but battled it out against the Hawks and even though he didn't get much of it I thought he used the ball very well in the last game against North from half back.

I'm also a big fan of Viv, I was also surprised with some of his dash and pace he showed at times.

I love his contested work, I think he usually comes out on top or at least neutralizes it one on one.

I think he just needs to develop his tank a bit more so he can get to more contests, improve his uncontested possession rate, and break away in those final quarters.

Once that improves I think we'll have a real player on our hands, needless to say I really like his upside and hope he makes massive inroads over the pre-season.

I'm in the Riley camp. I think Michie has a fair amount of work to do on his defensive running. Also seems a little one paced but is still young and has time to prove his worth. He's certainly at the right club.

I'd definitely prefer Mitchie over Riley at this point. I know Riley brings a lot of grunt but he's also quite a one type player- apart from being hard at it he really doesn't have much more scope. Unless he overtake McKenzie as our tagger then Mitchie is a much better option. Looks like a good decision maker and seems to be able to have a decent kick on him too!
