P.S. If it is on the news then Demonland villain status has been averted.

You reckon? Huge chance the news got it from here. Typical case of us feeding our own rumour back to ourselves.

I intend to be around these forums for a while, and I ain't going to lie. It's all done. Brendan is coming to the Dees, and I won't have egg on my face.

Like your confidence Kurt.

Not quite so apocalyptic Earl. I assume it's Kurt Cobain.

Whoops fair enough got my Kurts mixed up.

I can tell you now this source is quoted from Brendan McCartney himself.

He is going to the Dees on Monday. He wrote his own contract. He is VERY happy and sounds like he may even be our next senior coach in waiting. His role won't be much next year.

He rejected Essendon senior gig because of the scandal.

He built a bonfire with all his doggies stuff, had a party and burnt it cos he was treated like crap there.

Probably the only scoop I'll ever have so passing it on to fellow Demonlanders :)

I'm hardly a source of information either, but I was told at about the same time as the above post, very reliably, that Mc Cartney will be announced on Monday as our dev coach. it was from his work with Goodwin at essendon, that made him decide to come to the dees- he really rates him. Hird wanted him, but was rejected them for obvious reasons.

So how is McCartney such a good development coach if the Bulldogs players disliked him enough to get him sacked? How does that work? I'm honestly asking.

sounds like some over Egostatistical's got themselves in a lather

Good point Nasher. Can you make up a mini avatar for said Demonland villains?

It's how Barrett claims credibility on a story, he'll write a story in the HS and then go on AFL.com.au and say, "the Herald Sun is reporting....." as if it's someone else backing up his claim!

Maybe he's Kurt Vonnegut? After all, "I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different."

Wow.

I thought to myself "McCartney sacked? Stupid bulldogs. If only we could bring in for a development role, but we'd never have the room or the money..."

Very pleased with this development.

As Dwayne Hoover said: "It's all life until you're dead."

good now he can tell us how to stop Libba when we play the dogs next.

We already know. Play Viney on him.

McCartney was a failure at the Bulldogs, hated by all. How is this a good get?

Just sounds like another reject at Melbourne, we would be just as well off going for Neeld as a development coach.

10 years at Geelong.

I think Footscray failed McCartney.

Nah he's a gun coach with a winning % of 30 he will go down as one of the great coaches of the modern era.

The discontent at the Bulldogs all year was just a myth.

Undoubtedly the greatest coach we have had since Norm Smith.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
