So we can expect another rubbish year from Jack Watts. His confidence would be pretty low if we shopped him around to every club.

Or if you look at it from an optimistic rather than a pessimistic point of view, his confidence could be bolstered by Roos saying no to the trades.

I know we have had a bad time over the last 8 years, but I'm continually amazed at how many posters always instantly find the negative in everything. Sometimes I think the M in MFCSS stands for Masochistic.

On the contrary i think he will have had a sense of where he sits. If you ran a poll on DL i'm sure there'd be lost of posters who would say he would be worth only a 25 plus draft pick. But if GNF's mail is right (and i for one believ him) his real market vale appears to be 10 - 15 and Roos values him top 10.

Roos rates Watts. That should give him a big shot of confidence. We all know his deficiencies, in particular his unwillingness to always commit to the contest but as we also know we seriously lack class and most of all lack players with elite disposal skills (and vision for that matter).

He is our classiest player and by far the best, most damaging kick in the team. By far. He also rarely misses by hand. Look at how many of our scoring chances are set up by his kicks and handballs.

Perhaps if we had 12 players like the Hawks who were elite kicks Watts might be surplus to needs. But we don't. I would argue we have one. Watts. Hopefully Salem and the Toump will get there (and any new recruits) but as if Roos would get rid of our best kick.

Hawthorn won the premiership in large part because of their incredible kicking skills that dissect zones and flooding. Once again Clarkson saw where footy was going and traded accordingly. Roos is as good as Clarkson.

I don't want to turn this into a Watts bashing, but if Adelaide we're willing to part with Danger field for 2 or 3 plus Watts and we then decided to remove Watts from the deal then I'm totally let down by this decision.

Speculative kid + a KPF come defeneder, come midfielder, come high half forward who has become nothing for an A grade mid. Win.

First Roos has no idea how to use the sub, now he values Jack Watts over an instant fix of the midfield. When does Goodwin start?

Wonder how Trenners feels when Jack Watts is more wanted than he is. Ouch.

Thanks GNF. Let the haters hate and keep doing what you do.

I dont post here a lot but have been an avid reader for ~7 years, and really enjoy reading GNF's contributions.

Maybe the "haters" could start making use of the ignore funciton if what he has to say bothers them so much.

Thanks GNF, you're a man of your word and I, for one, look forward to your insider info, whether it comes in riddle form or not.

The revelation that a Watts trade could have got Dangerfield on our list burns in the pit of my stomach. You probably should have left that info out as it will fan the flames for all the Watts haters out there.

To the contrary, if Roos is so positive that he thinks he can turn watts for the better, then we have to back him on his thinking. we only see the obvious on the field, even of it looks awful.

it looks like Watts is here for at least a while longer. I will change my tune on hearing this message, & give it time.

Thanks GNF. as i thought, the Trengove situation put a lot of plans out.

Keep sniffing around.

I'm glad we didn't trade Jack Trengove for a danger pick. would have considered it for a Kennedy.

glad he's still with us.

My personal belief is that right now we have the salary cap room and held the right picks to make a massive play for a few a graders. We will gave to develop our own now.

I am a little bothered that Roos doesn't seem to rate Petracca. He looks to be everything Roos wants in a young mid. More than that, he has a bit of the Raging Bull about him in the way he wins the ball. What is the issue Roos has that so many other clubs don't seem to?

Trengove will be lucky to run out onto the park in the MFC jumper again.

We need talent. Not sentiment.

Jack was keen to go i heard on SEN this morning.

It's a business.

sorry WYL but i don't share you pessimism

I think that Jack can get it right. but he they need to search the world to hget this injury the best help to fix the blood supply to his navicular & also to help his body repair itself as well.

he must have a weakness in the blood-supply to the area, an area known to have poor supply anyway.

its time to look worldwide, & also look outside the traditional box of tricks. I reckon a combo of surgery & non trad' methods can work.

I hope Jack takes his time before rushing into surgery, to get a lot of research done in Non traditional areas, then choose a combo plan, without the traditional drugs.

I see it that Jack has suffered a foot complaint since after his 2nd year, & lost a lot of run & speed since around that time. A time when he was trying hard to put weight & mass on quickly.

Was his injury the same as Stevie J? When he was about to go to Collingwood?

OK GNF do you have any info on our lack of key forwards?

Will we look to draft a key forward or does he think Watts (or somebody else)is the answer?

I know Roos said he wants midfielders but that was when Clark was still on the list, has Roos changed his views now that Clark is no longer at the club?

I think Watts can play a role simular to Gunston if he could take a [censored] mark. He drops far too many sitters for somebody who was supposed to have vice like hands at under 18 level his other flaws can be sorted out if he gets more confidence in his marking ability.

the club making him play all of the 2013 season when he was a shadow of himself is abig part of it DL. Schwab's last hope after $cully defected.

Making him captain still makes me angry.

But the net result is he now in severe doubt.

Not even the great Aroldite can help this situation!!

i believe he was referring to the bell-end who popped up on Demonland with the actual name and avatar of 'The Riddler'.

Ok, in that case I apologise unreservedly.

Having been out of the country for the past almost 4 weeks and only having occasional scans of the forums, I obviously missed the riddler.

Thanks GNF. I love a good rumor and reckon you're closer to the pin than most.

Thanks for sharing what you hear GNF with trades it seems a pretty fluid situation so it's no big surprise these deals can come so close but then fall over.

Much appreciated anyway.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
