That Pie scum with a massive win:

Beams and Lamumba and pick 67 (which they weren't going to use) out!

Greenwood, Varcoe, Pick 5, Crisp in!

Seriously I hate that scum, why can't we play hardball like that?

Are you kidding me?

Two of their best performers from last season for a bloke that has played one good season at North, Travis Varcoe and Pick 5?

If they get Pick 5 right and if Greenwood becomes their 3rd best mid - then they win.

Otherwise, their slide will long continue.

I don't know why, maybe it's finally set in but now for once I feel infuriated with Clark going to the Cats. Maybe it was the poorly Photoshopped image, I'm not sure.

Now (to me anyway) he is nothing more that a feral moggy that swipes at the hand that feeds him.

I think the Pies have lost honestly.

Beams is an absolute star and Lamumba (or whatever his name is) I believe was an All- Australian.

Varcoe is average at best, Greenwood has had one good year but I think will be a solid citizen, pick 5 and Crisp are unknowns.

I'd be filthy if I was a scum supported

Yeah, what's with the angst at Collingwood? They lost a top 5 player in the league for draft picks; not an ideal situation. Would any of us like to lose Nathan Jones for a first and second rounder?

I'm more disgusted at Geelong, who easily win out in that deal. I'm not one to wish injury on a player, but [censored]... if there was ever a player who deserved an "unexpected deterioration in their recovery" it sure as hell ain't Trenners. It's a scumbag down at the Cattery, running away from his problems like a coward.

I don't know about that. The Pies just lost their 2nd and 4th best footballers from last year and it is very unclear how much quality they have received in return.

Would you swap Tyson and Dunn for that lot?

If Clark comes good, obviously Geelong are massive winners out of this.

To the point of moving back into solid top-4 confidence.

Despite Collingwood getting Pick 5 and a whole pile of extras, they wont be happy with this. Beams is a top-ten midfielder in the AFL and Lumumba would have been even more important to them next year, with their rebounding paths now very, very limited.

Melbourne got a useful player, solid AFL quality, in a role we really need filled.

While it is irritating to see Clark go, I'm going to focus on the fact we got something in a situation that six weeks ago was nothing.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
