WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM FROST

As an avid watcher of this show, let me just say, this Sam, much like the GWS one, can do a lot better.

We'll look a treat after Western Sydney!

To which Blake's scripted response would be something along the lines of "I have the utmost love, care and respect for Jaded. She's an amazing amazing girl. Sadly her love for the Demons clashed with our filming schedules, maybe in another life"

Without having our 3rd rounded (now used on Billy) I can't see us just having a straight swap for Sam, unless there's a player we have that GWS likes and is equitable, which is highly unlikely.

I think a 2nd rounder is too high for him, but probably his eventual cost.

And I also think downgrading an early pick is too high, as in pick 2 for pick 4 & Frost.

I could see us maybe sending pick 2 & change to the dogs for picks 6, 26 & 27 maybe, then eventually sending one of those 2nd rounders to GWS for Frost.

Unless we get Frost & someone else from GWS.

I think this is the best result for us, depending on who.

Sumner? Buntine? Bugg? O'Rourke? Jaksch? Tomlinson?

Shiel doubtful.

Is Frost OOC?

My thoughts too.

Unsure, but PSD could be a goer.

Saints unlikely to take him after loading up on Bruce and Delaney as KPD last year.

Like us, they need star mids.

Surely a 4th rounder would do for Frost? He came off the rookie list and although we want him, his price shouldn't be too high.

Apparently GWS have asked for pick 2 for Frost. Good to know they have a sense of humour about things.

I can only imagine that was a typo and it was meant to say GWS want Melbourne's second round pick for Frost.

On what planet do they think they could get pick 3 for Frost?

I'd give them pick 3 for Frost and Shiel. Think they'd go for that?

Yep, spot on. And even pick 23 is probably overs for Frost I'd say.

I can smell a complicated three way deal involving Carlton coming up with Jaksch, Frost, Garlett & Picks flying around all over the place in order to get these players to their destination.

Pick 61 or pick him up in the PSD.

Pick 61 or pick him up in the PSD.

Agree. Pick 23 is massively over the odds, unless they want to package a second player or pick in the deal.

Posted

He was their first pick in the Rookie draft of 2011. It could be argued he got games this year because of the absence of Davis, Mohr and others. Pick 23 is way too high, that is the sort of pick being discussed for Levi Greenwood who missed the B & F by one vote.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
