I'd love to bump one of threads full of posters desperately wanting the club to use a first round pick on Garlett, but I'll save them the embarrassment.

No embarrassment here mate.

We could have changed a life

Could have .

Anyhoo, people who never make mistakes are not my cuppa.

I'm not big on judging things I know little of.

I was big on getting him over.

Would fit well in our fruit basket.

Well if a top club like hawthorn couldnt get him focused hten what hope has he got. another example of a person with talent who has chosen the wrong path.

I was over him when they showed him play on anzac day this year and during the ceremony and 1 minute silence he was poking faces at a teammate and laughing showing complete disrespect.

I feel sorry for the kid. To get given talent other people can only dream about. but a set of brains other people can only laugh at.

What a waste.

That's the beauty of you Machsy.

Wasnt aware of the charges until today. I was one who hoped he could turn things around and that we would consider drafting him but it would appear that he has significant troubles.

It's been bleedingly obvious for a long long time that this kid had serious issues and wasn't up to playing AFL footy.

It's not about someone making a few mistakes, it's more that he's made precious few good decisions.

I think some just don't what's required of players these days to really make it.

Talent is only the beginning.

I'm sure wannabe comedians like RTG & Biff will try to take a moral high ground, but my point is that you've got to make consistently good solid decisions as a club for sustained success, and this was clearly as high a risk proposition as you'll see in AFL recruitment.

Hope the kid gets his life somewhat on track.

I would have thought it is you Machsy, in your relentless pursuit to be right, who is clambering for the high moral ground. I simply stated that I was one who wished we drafted him earlier on and that I hoped he could turn things around. Your holier than thou post is slightly less so when your previous post talks of bumping the 'embarrassing' thoughts of others.

But of course, you'll 'save' us. What a sport. I'll give you this. You are relentless.

In more strife. Just reported on the wireless over here that he's been busted for videoing himself driving at 200kmh on the way to Geraldton - and then posting it online.

Over the 60+ years of my life, I have been, and still am a di ck head. You name the the stupidity and I can top it.

I try not to judge today's young people because I was (am) as silly as them.

However, even if the technology was available. I dont think i would have been such a giant fu ck wit to actually film myself breaking the law and then publishing it for the world to see.

The kids on a mission to hit rock bottom. I hope he finds it before he's dead, but it seems the best case scenario is he'll find it in jail.

Hawthorn made a rare error sticking their neck out for this kid. Hindsight's 20/20 but he didn't last long.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
