Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

His first issue with Buckley was over Seedsmans haircut which looked like a very lesbian type of boys cut so they called him"les".

When I read that I actually thought Buckley was a fairly humorous type to come up with that one and the ask"are you ok with that Harry?"

Harry wasn't Ok with that .

Harry lives in a PC bubble- not in reality.

...........

OMG - I hadn't heard that one before. Seriously, he seriously takes himself and life far too seriously. Can't really see him lasting the distance in a team sport going on like that.

Yeah, Watts has more upside, like smiling lots and giving high fives and hugs to his mates over the member's fence.

Geez, my 15 yr old cat attacks a ball with more ferocity than Jackie. Has the skills and vision to really be something, and had a reasonable to poor year IMO. Makes me scream uncharacteristically vile obscenities over the fence in frustration. I even made BBO blush once, would've messaged the abusive behaviour number, however he can't text yet.

Back on topic, those thinking Lumumba wouldn't add dash and class out of the back line and would improve our list are kidding themselves. He'd be fine in our change rooms, we are not like those black and white bigots down Olympic Park way.

Agreed!! I reckon we could provide a better class of bigotry.

Well, I certainly could.

The fact that Harry takes himself extremely seriously seems to be his major character flaw.

Sounds to me like Buckley was baiting him.

As you say, "humorously" - so HL has the option of conceding and being good-natured about dropping his stance, and presumably having his nose good-naturedly rubbed in it (thus giving in to the rubbishing of the point he'd tried to raise), or saying "no" - which could equally be no to not only being ok with sexual harassment (no matter how trivial - it is Buckley who's made it a test case), but also to being so set up by the senior coach. And who would've found this "humorous"? Whoever their resident homophobic blokey blokes might be, I imagine - a locker-roomfull at Collingwood, likely enough?

Not much respect going on in this story that Biffen is telling us. Yobbo monoculture, contributed to by the senior coach.

I think this story says far more that's damaging about Buckley's effect on culture than it does about HL. Isolated and ganged up on, by the boss - this is not a workplace culture that belongs in the 21st Century.

Bag me out, help yourself - at least I don't have to stand here taunted by the laughter. Good on you Heretier for having the guts to stare the p ssweak p ick down.

Collingwood have a history of "culture" issues, it's only 12 months ago that the shot hit the fan when Darren Jolly also managed to get himself offside. On leaving he made the point that there were "a select few that are a bit of a problem", and also commented that some at Collingwood didn't like players speaking out or challenging the status quo.

Not been the same club on or off field since Malthouse left.

The running runour is Bucks wants everyone to be clones of what he was on-field - soulless obsessive-compulsives who run themselves into the ground. If you aren't, you're out.

This was a story from the paper back when Harry last cracked it with Buckley.

Personally thought it very innocuous but Harry took exception.

Probably a lick of truth in it but lets be honest,Footy clubs often are places where people share a joke.

yes, that's true.

still, if one of your blokes raises issues, you can show respect or rubbish him. Maybe Bucks had had enough and broke the rules in frustration. Hard to tell since we weren't there. But, all the same, even though PC can be a pain at times I know, a boss ought to behave the way a boss is expected to, in this day and age. Gotta respect the guys, if you expect to get the best out of them. if you have to address issues, surely you do it in private?

Heretier is more up-to-date than Bucks, that's how I see it. Should he be getting bullied into acting a redneck too?

Stop showing off Biff!!

It was a fine way to spend public money

and it gave some scumbag actors a reason to stay off the streets for the night.

It was all about unfairness or some crapola.

Who cares anyway.

Have heard from a Collingwood supporter who knows Harry personally that he is a terrific bloke - and footballer - who is not happy with Bucks rigid regime.

Harry is absolutely committed to being the best player he can be - but struggles with Buckley's determination to build a team of clones. Points out that Dawes and Taylor will know him - and will be encouraging Roos to snap him up.

His run would certainly be an asset

The point is,we must fund the occasional deviate to display some kind of cultural awareness or else half the ABC will need to go back to selling tricks.

I had the unfortunate experience of living next to Lumumba early this year. He is not the guy everyone makes him out to be. He frequently woke my family (and everyone else in the apartment block) with aggressive and demeaning abuse of his girlfriend. What made it worst was that this often happened outside the window of my boys bedroom (they are 1 and 3). We were very conflicted and what we should do, we were going to call the police once, but it settled down; another time I went outside (to shut the gate) hoping he would notice that people were always around listening/watching. Not sure how anyone can make a stand about some social issues while being a perpetrator of another.

Have dealt with him in an official capacity and can concur he is a very unlikeable person.

My work mate who knows nothing about football asked a very innocent question "I believe you play football?".

He replied in an extremely smarmy manner "thats ONE of the things I do! "

Cut it out....seriously.

This apartment wasn't off st Kilda road was it?

I really don't like the idea of taking this guy on, most of the posts suggest good reasons not to.

Our club doesn't need that stuff.

I will be very disappointed if he becomes a demon.

There are plenty of players id be happy to see in the red and blue, target them instead roosy!

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
